Karl Friedrich Benz (November 25, 1844 – April 4, 1929) was a German engine designer and car engineer, generally regarded as the inventor of the gasoline-powered automobile.
HOWEVER, it was his wife Bertha Benz who invested in Benz's business in 1871, enabling him to develop the first patented automobile and in 1888 she was the first person to drive an automobile over a long distance.

That said, most guys I know want to be Engineers or Physicists, while we girls are leaning more towards biology based courses. Strange that. We overlap in chemistry so there's usually long debates on physics vs biology.(Original post by james22)
Depends what you mean by intelligence, there is not doubt that our minds work differently and that we are good at different things (eg the makeup of science courses is heavely scewed towards males).
But to answer the original question, neither gender is more intelligent. There are clever men and stupid men, clever women and stupid women. -

Women are smarter than men but men adapt to situations better than women
or Women are still smarter than men and they usually don't get the top jobs because of maternity leave when they get pregnant and with them in a high position it could be bad for the work place. (But I doubt this is the case)

In my opinion, neither gender is superior in regard to intelligence, so no.
In the UK men are far smarter than women. This maybe due to deeply ingrained sexism making women do stupid subjects, but just go to any hard degree course and the majority will be men.

I really do not see the value of averaging people, as if other people who are incidentally of the same sex or ethnicity have any psychological influence on an individual who also happens to be of the same sex or ethnicity.
