Just got in after leaving Rihanna early, in my opinion she was very dissapointing! Would've rather seen Tinie Tempah headline, he was amazing today!
David Guetta was amazing in the Dance Areana, as was Labrinth to start the whole day!
I must say my shoe choice really was wrong, should've worn wellies or boots...
Other than that, it was amazing! Wish Jay-Z headlined tonight though...
I agree with this whole post!

Tinie Tempah was immense; i was sitting down resting when he came on, but I couldn't stop myself from getting up and dancing/singing, loved the way he was cracking jokes and prefacing his songs aswell.

David Guetta dropped some heavy beats - it was great that he started with Titanium as everyone was singing to it and it got the crowd moving

Labrinth was the first artist i've listened to live at the first festival/concert i've been to (yesterday) and I thought he was amazing. The crowd was really up for it aswell - people were cheering at the countdown to a video package on the screens xD As expected, he ended with Earthquake much to my delight

In addition, Florence and the Machine were excellent - I didn't know many of the songs before I saw them, but was an experience I especially enjoyed the dance? mix of 'you've got the love' at the end of that song.

Plan B was good, although he didn't stimulate the crowd as much as other artists - though 'She said' was a big hit and had everyone singing, and 'Ill manors' pushed up the tempo for some action.

Somehow missed out Jessie J!? It was amazing to behold such a vocal talent - what she can do with her voice is quite incredible On top of that, she is a great performer and B.o.B came on stage for Price Tag! Which was great because I didn't get the chance to see him (he clashed with Florence).

As for Rihanna, we only stayed till about 9.45 so we saw a few of her songs.. we were stationed by the exit so as to make a quick escape in anticipation of having to leave early the catch the last train (in hindsight, we could have stayed later :/ ) , but while we were there we were making the most of it and dancing/singing to the music despite hardly anyone around us moving much - and as much as we watched, I thought she had a great stage presence and probably would have enjoyed the rest - especially when Jay-Z came on!

All in all - Hackney Weekend was my first concert and I can't speak highly enough of it; I thought it was superbly well run and at £2.50 a ticket there was so much value for money in being there (despite the expected high prices of food and drink) and I didn't see one bad performance; in fact, I think I like all the artists I saw on Sunday better than I did before, which I guess is the whole idea of performing live!

Yeah Tinie was really good, how he got the entire crowd throwing up "W" for Wonderman was pretty cool.

Yeah that was sweet - not to mention Miami 2 Ibiza and pass out which were both of course hits with the crowd

Radio 1's Hackney Weekend was my first festival and even with the rain during queueing and the mud, my day was not dampened.
    My highlights were definitely:
Jessie J, she sang amazingly well and I was about 3 metres from the stage so it was awesome. When the whole crowd sang her songs in unison, it was a special moment.
Azelia Banks was also great, 212 had the whole tent jumping.
Then Taio Cruz and B.O.B, who I wouldn't have usually bothered about seeing but after my friend dragged me along I was so pleased
Chase and Status was insane, the lasers and smoke was an added bonus to the massive rave.
Florence + the machines in the sunshine was beautiful.
Finally Rihanna, although I only saw the first half, she was amazing.
It would have great to see JayZ but i wouldn't have gotten home otherwise.

Overall it was one of the best days of my life so far...

Saw Bombay bicycle club who were pretty awesome!

Santigold was pretty crap but Ben Howard came after her and was EPIC!

Jessie J was amazing and Tinie Tempah was soo fun! I love how he got the whole crowd dancing!
Florence and the machine were pretty cool as well - she's so beautiful!
The special guest was a disappointment and I saw loads of people leaving after he came on! Rihanna was AMAZING! so glad I stayed and when Jay Z came on i went mad!! 😄

Re: BBC - Radio 1 Hackney Weekend
My friends were constantly ringing and texting me during Rihanna trying to make me meet them halfway through (my phone had ran out of credit, they didn't want to loose me in the rush at the end, even though i said to go and i'd make my own way back). So i made my way out of the crowd, and i didn't even realise Jay-Z was on until she thanked him... So gutted! I watched half her set from right at the back near the food stalls with them and was scolded every time i tried to get closer. Fml!
But the beginning when she first came out and the lights, dancers, backdrop when she started, was absolutely amazing. I must've seen about 6 songs before i had to go find my friends. & I hate them for it now!
