Re: BBC - Radio 1 Hackney WeekendTo make up for taking Florence away.(Original post by Mo-Amin)
True, true... I'm seeing Jack White anyway two days beforehand though! =D
Saturday now has a Special Guest too...
Oh, and that smilie is

Re: BBC - Radio 1 Hackney Weekend
My guess, and whether this is going to be a popular choice or not I don't know is that it will be Nicki Minaj as the special guest on the Saturday.
Yes David Guetta and Rihanna are playing on the Sunday and she's collaborated with them both so that would make more sense
BUT
She starts her UK mini tour at the Hammersmith Apollo on the Sunday and based on the Special Guest being second from top I'd guess they'll be on around 8pm, meaning she'd be well and truly busy at her own gig doing Meet&Greets etc...
Also she will have to have been in the UK for at least a day before to allow time for stage setup, so thats what my guess is (and secret hope is as I'm going Saturday and missed out on her tour tickets) -
Re: BBC - Radio 1 Hackney Weekend
My bad.
Yeah I'd still prefer if Florence was on the Saturday. I wonder who it'll be though - I'd be surprised if it was Nicki Minaj as the Special Guest is billed below Kasabian and I don't think they'd do that tbh.
I'll probably be at the In New Music We Trust stage tbh, for Maccabees and then my friend wants to see Lostprophets after (fml) and then Jack White's there after. -
Re: BBC - Radio 1 Hackney Weekend
Fair enough, I know my guess was partially based on who I would like to be there, she just seems very much the sort of act who would go well in amognst Jay-Z and she'll be in London all that weekend so educated guess.
I wish wish wish Florence had stayed on the Saturday, I've seen her 5 times now and I adore her. So amazing live.
Apart from Annie Mac and Eric Prydz I basically want to see the whole Dance Arena. Quite nice to see Emeli Sandé on 1Xtra - don't care for anyone else on there.
Rita Ora is a must for me, The Maccabees and probably Jack White too.
Main stage I don't really care for anyone until whoever this special guest is.
Guess we'll have to wait and see how stage times work out first though...

Re: BBC - Radio 1 Hackney Weekend
Ooooo stages allocated.
I suppose the INMWT Stage on the Sunday isn't so bad, but the main stage compared with the Saturday is hilariously dire.
Leona Lewis the first act on Saturday ffs, on Sunday we get a Tiny Temper. What even is that.
Hopefully the sun is shining

General possible stage times: http://clashfinder.com/s/hackney2012/
Deadmau5 - Annie Mac - Michael Kiwanuka - food break? maybe start of Prydz? - Maccabees - Lostprophets (not my choice :P ) - Jack White/Jay-Z
I'm seeing Jack White 2 days before Hackney Weekend anyway so I'm not sure about which headliner to go for.
Maccabees hinges on whoever the Special Guest is.
Love that deadmau5 and Annie Mac are on early - they're great fun and will put us in a good mood for the day I'm sure! -
Re: BBC - Radio 1 Hackney Weekend
Last rumours I read were either Kanye West to do a WTT segment or Beyoncé as a first comeback since baby Blue Ivy.
I'm pretty sure it won't be either of them though...If it were Kanye he'd be on after Kasabian not before and it just doesn't strike me as something Beyoncé would do.
Apparently Greg James has basically confirmed on radio that Coldplay are the sunday guests which makes sense I suppose. Princess of China live anyone? -
Re: BBC - Radio 1 Hackney WeekendI agree - it would make sense apart from the line-up order, just wouldn't be right. Can see Kanye maybe making an appearance in the Jay-Z set? Idk.(Original post by pantzball)

Re: BBC - Radio 1 Hackney WeekendYeah I reckon he might appear to at least do N*ggaz in Paris but I can't see him being the special guest all together. After all this it had better not turn out to be a real let down - especially if Sunday do get coldplay!(Original post by Mo-Amin)
