Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 EntryNot too much of a joke then(Original post by Lenka.P)
It'd be like B1 I'd say. I've done a French homestay and buying food, traveling, talking about my country, about school and such was 'alright'. I could understand quite well, and as about speaking... I could get my points through
.
The level isn't that low, just too low for you (I empathise >.<)!
I trust wcp's judgment(Original post by Silverland)
apparently? ¦D
Pembroke does look amazing though. Huge fan of Pembroke. been hoarding Pembroke prospectuses and giving a few out to close friends at school.
?
Does look good though, must agree. Are you going to their open day?
-
Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 Entry'fraid not this time. I may go to the one in July for sciences at Pembroke since that's what I want to do, but the distances are quite large so it is unlikely at the moment.(Original post by Etoile)

Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 EntryAh cool, Trinity Hall looks like a nice college. I did mine on which scientist's life I would extend (chose Charles Darwin(Original post by Larry31)
Hi! I'm also a Cambridge Medic hopeful
I'm pretty set on Trinity Hall, but I'm gonna have a look around to be sure :P I also entered the Kelvin Science Prize, did the question about philosophy of science. Did you get an email today from them telling us to expect the announcements in late May? In all fairness I am not expecting to win, but I'm glad I got the experience of writing the essay
). Yeah, I got the same email. I'm not expecting anything but really want to get commended as you get to go up for a day and it looks good on an application I suppose.
How's your revision going? -
Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 Entry(Original post by MissMedic)
Hi
prospective 2013 applicant for medicine too!! For me its between Emma and Christ's.. Just can't decide which one!! Any opinions? Feels weird that we'll be applying in a couple of months...

Emma has ducks, and Christs is really academic. That's pretty much all I know. Also, this guy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a8XLBnFdKc) goes/went to Emma, not that that will affect your choice
I know right, it feels like we have such little time left.
Got any wxp this holiday?

Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 EntryYes it is a lovely college for sure(Original post by --emma--)
Well, congratulations on the offer!
Oh, my school has a link with Peterhouse so we went to visit it - it's so lovely!
-
Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 EntryGoes, although he's in my year so he'll be gone before any of you lot get here!(Original post by oli_G)

Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 EntryMuch obliged. How different is the Cambridge Law Test?(Original post by 05038bj)
Congratulations on the 100% on the politics exam- no mean feat! I reckon you'll still stand a good chance at getting a Cambridge interview if you get the AS grades you're predicted.
Just so you know Cambridge don't use the LNAT, they use the Cambridge Law Test
(and for some colleges they use their own version) but you don't have to sit that untill interview day.

Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 EntryAh really, what's he like?(Original post by Zoedotdot)
Goes, although he's in my year so he'll be gone before any of you lot get here! -
Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 EntryIt's very different, for the LNAT you have a multiple choice section and then you have to write an essay. I didn't do the Cambridge Law Test (Clare set their own) but I think you can get either: an essay, a problem question or a comprehension paper. If you look on the Law Faculty's website they've got more info on there(Original post by Luke Williams)
Much obliged. How different is the Cambridge Law Test?
I personally found the Clare Law Test a lot harder than the LNAT but then I know people who've had the exact opposite experience! There are practice LNAT tests on the LNAT website too so there's a lot of information online for you to take a look at and get a good idea about what to expect. -

I'm a hospital volunteer as well (on an Oncology ward)
I'm thinking about Bristol, Barts, Durham etc. I'm considering applying to another BMAT uni (Imperial) but am not sure, as it's quite risky. If I get a great UKCAT score I'll only apply to Cambridge, if not so good I may give Cambridge and Imp a go.
You?
-
Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 EntryOoh I'm thinking imperial too! As for the others I'm thinking a Scottish uni (maybe Edinburgh) and then not sure for my last one thinking B'ham/Leicester/Queen Mary but I'm really not sure..trying to balance where I'd LIKE to go and where I would get in.. But cambridge is the dream.. Only worried that I'll get my hopes up too high and completely go into a depression if I don't get in..(Original post by oli_G)

Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 EntryHere here, what you've just said pretty much sums up what I think about this. For example, I don't really like PBL courses (just don't think the course layout would suit me), but I don't want to limit myself purely to the 'traditional' med schools (which may be more competitive).(Original post by MissMedic)

Re: Cambridge Applicants for 2013 EntryWell....it's better than not trusting it at all

Where are you thinking of now? I haven't found the link to the open day booking yet despite it saying: "booking opens in April." I suppose it doesn't necessarily mean the first. (Not that I'm eager)
I've just found out that Pembroke prefer deffering......looks like I'll have to apply elsewhere.Last edited by bananarama2; 01-04-2012 at 22:17.
