    Tax Qualification After ACA
I'm currently in the process of applying for training contracts and obviously in interviews you're often asked what your long term goals are, or plans after qualification. Obviously I don't really know if I would like to take the switch to industry yet, and I wouldn't want to say that in an interview in any case.

One thing I thought I could say is that I would want to look towards further study after ACA qualification. The medium size and smaller firms I'm looking to apply to often require their staff to have all round knowledge so I would look to do a tax qualification. Would the qualification that I should look to study be the CTA, or is there a more common one in this field for those already with experience?

    Thanks

I've never had a problem saying I'd move away from practice after the three years.

Good for you. Personally I would want to demonstrate loyalty to the potential employer, as they would be putting significant investment in my training.

CTA is pretty specialist. If you're applying for Audit I'd probably say you want to progress up the chain and you want to learn all about different kinds of businesses, etc.

I definitely wouldn't say you're looking to leave after you qualify!
