What will happen to my finances if I drop out?

I attended Brighton University in September 2011 and began going to lectures and seminars. Come October, I began to develop a sleep disorder and suffer from depression. I continued going to lectures here and there until about November. From then until March (currently), I didn't attend a single university lecture due to my severe problems.

In short, I didn't go to university throughout the second term due to illness.

I'm going to try and start again at the beginning of the third term, despite my difficulties. My concern is that if I drop out (which is very possible, due to illness), will I be forced to pay back the borrowed money from my second and third term?

My family threw me out and don't support me, so there's no way I could pay it back on the spot. Will Student Finance force me to repay it as soon as I drop out? What would happen afterwards?

Any overpayments become immediately repayable. SF will usually work out a payment plan with you for you to repay a fixed amount per month.
