Telling family about depression and antidepressants
I've recently been diagnosed with depression and am on antidepressants, but I don't know whether to tell my family or not. I'm scared about how they'll react.

What would you advise me to do? Is it better to let them know or not?

Only you can really make that decision as you know your family better than anyone else.

It's easy for me to say that they will understand and love you just the same and support you but unfortunately I know not all families are like that so I can't run the risk of telling you everything will be just fine.

What are the advantages of telling them and what are the disadvantages? weigh up the pros and cons, put it down on paper. Draw a line down the page with pros on one side and cons on the other side. Helps to put things in to perspective.
