There really is no time estimate on learning to drive. People learn at different paces. The only way to help it is to keep practising. Learning to drive/park can be very frustrating, but you'll get there eventually.
Haha its horrible when you decide to park in a space between 2 cars, and whilst parking, the people of one of the cars decides to turn up and want to get into their car!!!
I was slightly too close to it when I drove into the space (obviously wasn't going to hit it), so they passed behind me, and was waiting for me to reverse out. They then got into the car, for me to then park straighter and with more space either side.
It was so annoying. Always happens that.
You will learn with time. My instructors car actually had markers on the back arches to align with.
Also, it is legal to tilt the left mirror down to make a manuouver.
Spacial awareness is USUALLY something males are good at and females not so good at
That is not a fault or sexist in any way - just a genetic fact
Perhaps that will change in eons to come - like males having babies - hmmm .... I would not bet on it though - LOL
How many times do we see a gap where a male driver goes through no problem but the female driver decides not to? - loads of times - but its not a driving fault - just something we should all be aware of
Now the other way around - a situation where stopping or slowing to a crawl is needed so the female driver does so but the male driver decides not to and pehaps has a near miss - seen that loads of times as well.
To all those ladies having trouble with parking etc - do not worry - there are little 'tricks' that a good instructor can give to help you
To all those males taking risks - no help is available - unless you consider a brain transplant
Can tell a person how to do something but cannot tell a person how to think !!
Well my instructor always told me this: You know the little knobbly bit in the centre of your windscreen? (where the wipers are attatched) when you're driving, that should look as though it's lined up with the curb, and that should make you in the correct position. Obv this is only a guide but yeah. Also, don't forget to check your left wing mirror, you can see if you're too close to the kerb that way too.
