I'll come to London from September, and I was wondering if anyone know about an amateur football team that competes in any amateur league, or simply practises, preferably on a regular basis ?

As for the level, I myself have been playing now for 14 years (U-14 and U-15 youth teams also), in various teams in Switzerland and in Japan, but always on a moderate level.

Moreover, it would be preferable if the practise would take place in central London

Of course, football practise means also the numerous after-effort beers and EPL screenings!
