    Healthy Weight Gain
    Hey guys,

Ive done some prior research, but im interested in any ideas you guys might be able to provide.

I am a size eight female with a very high metabolism. Im looking to gain a bit of weight as Im concerned by small size is making me look ill. Ive tried to gain weight in the past, but with little success, its very difficult for me to keep it on.

Im wondering what high calorie foods/ diets you would recommend to someone looking to gain weight. I would however like to be the diet to be as healthy as possible, so try to avoid recommending McDonnalds ect lol

    Many thanks

What do you typically eat on a daily basis? Then I can help you bulk up a bit.

I'm the same but a guy, it's a nightmare trying to put weight on! Suppose it's better than trying to lose it though.
I needed to put on 5kg for the Army and I tried the GOMAD diet, (Gallon Of Milk A Day) for a certain amount of time. It was probably ridiculously unhealthy but it worked :')
So I'm looking for some other methods to keep the weight on or even increase further, thanks for making this thread

I used to be a size 8 and I was very anemic with ridiculously heavy/painful periods. I gained weight after going on the pill - weight gain is a side effect that puts many women off it, but it did wonders for me.

I don't know if that's a good suggestion or not because many people are against it.

There's a common belief that people who are overweight have a slow metabolism (burn energy slowly), while thin people have a fast metabolism (burn energy quickly). This is a myth.

You need to post your daily diet so that somebody can help you improve it. Chances are you don't actually eat anywhere near as much at the moment as you think you do.

Try healthier fats such as seeds and nuts. These have high calories, low saturated fat, low cholesterol and low salt. The same can be said for vegetables. Maybe eat a snack pack of carrots midmorning. You don't want to eat the wrong types of food.

Also, add bigger portions to the ones you eat. For example, if you have a bowl of pasta add extra sauce or meat.

You can try nutritional drinks too if you find it hard to physically it more. I used to use complan. It's cheaper to buy in bulk and you can drink 250 calories in one go easily. There are protein bars and shakes are places such as Boots that you can have every so often.

    almonds are brilliant.

Cook a lot of boiled eggs and store them in the fridge then eat them whenever you are hungry
