Help me please- am I making the wrong decision?
I recently decided to choose to study archaeology at Nottingham over UCL, but I can't seem to bring myself to firm this choice. I'm having second thoughts about the whole thing- am I making the right choice?
I'm really getting stressed out here.
Anyone been to these uni's? What were the pro' and con's?
I also have an offer from Exeter but haven't visited- ( the offer there is the same as UCL, AAB)

Any thoughts would be helpful, whether you have experience with these places or not.

Exact same problem here - I'm debating whether to go Bournemouth or Greenwich; they're not as far as Nottingham but it's still a tough decision for me. I'm sure on what course I want to do just unsure on where I want to go.

You need to consider what's more important for you; what you prefer. For example, I prefer somewhere that is more social and lively where there's a wide range of people over somewhere which is quite which would be why I'm now more interested in Greenwich rather than Bournemouth.

I've been accepted by Nottingham Trent but it just seems too far for me to travel and I don't know if I'll be able to cope with it; Greenwich is only 30 minutes away and Bournemouth is 2 hours by train which is why they would be more convenient for me.

You should consider how well you would be able to cope; making sure you won't feel isolated and that you will put effort into your degree to pass it and not waste that much of your time there. You could also go and plan a day there to see how it feels like then fully decide what you want to do.

Message me if you'd like talk about anything else

It depends WHY you can't firm Nottingham. If it is because you can't bring yourself to reject UCL, then you need to ask yourself why. If it is purely because of the prestige then just reject it... if you are actually interested in UCL then you've got to just list out the pros and cons and try and think about them in terms of how beneficial each one is.

Both are great universities so I wouldn't worry too much about it- you'll come out with a great degree either way

Wow, archaeology sounds so interesting, I actually wanted to be an archaeologist when I was little, ha. Anyway, I would just base it on reputation, UCL is an amazing opportunity and the whole point of a degree is to achieve a job at the end of it. If I was an employer I would consider hiring the UCL graduate as opposed to the Nottingham one, although that is just my opinion. I suppose the main thing is that you enjoy your course, regardless of its reputation, if you're having second thoughts don't make the decision until you are completely sure. Could you, perhaps, go and visit both uni's to decide the best option for you?

Hey there, I'd say both are great cities as I've visited Nottingham and live in London. UCL obviously carries better prestige and has a better Archaeology dept. than Nottingham, so it will most probably have better teaching quality. At the end of the day, it's up to you though, it's where you will be spending your next 3/4 years so choose carefully.

P.S. Are you sure your offer from UCL Archaeology was AAB? I thought the standard was ABB?
