Well, on the financial side, the cultural and authentic side, the academic side, I'd say Edinburgh.. on the irrational, really irrational and weather-fixated side I'd say Exeter because Exeter is most likely going to be more.. well.. bourgeoise-like, that typical British town, that place most tourists associate the "wonderful" s. E., seaside side of Britain with.

No, seriously, if you want to go international, go Edinburgh, because it has been rated as 20th in the world, 19th for arts and hums. Compare that to Exeter - take your pick!

PLUS! It's even more secure (your offers) and honestly, it has already happened that people have overestimated the grades they'll get. You'll never know what life will be like in two months - dead mother?

I'm not actually a friend of these rubbishy rankings, which is why I'm gonna give you the advice I was given myself.. look at the modules, the curriculum and decide on the basis of that.. I went with where I'd learn more (Scotland or Germany) and stayed in Germany. It's more my style of learning.

They're both great universities. Edinburgh is more of a cultural city if you're into that. Bare in mind scottish courses are 4 years rather than the usual 3 in england, so if that bothers you go for exeter.
Exeter is supposed to have one of, if not the most beautiful campuses in the country and I think it's near the sea.
Exeter's stereotype is very much a preppy, very typical-student uni whereas Edinburgh's is of a slightly pretentious, alternative sort of uni. (I wouldn't take much from that at all to be honest).

They're both world-reknowned, although I think Edinburgh has a slightly better reputation.

If sport is what you're into, they're both very good, but Exeter is often top 5-10 for sport.

In terms of the actual course, I've got no clue!

Hope you make the right decision!
