I've eaten about 50 Rich Tea biscuits. I has problems.

Yes. You do. Last I checked there were about 35 biscuits in a packet of Tesco Value Rich Teas. If you've eaten 50 this means one of the packets must have 20 left in it!

Not good enough. Get cracking. :whip:

I had a half eaten Rich Tea biscuit in my mouth as I read this :ashamed2:

I'm sat on the sofa, covered in crumbs, watching a particularly tedious episode of 'Grand Designs' because I can't find the remote.

My life is a mess :emo:

I thought my emoticon was Ben and Jerry's for a second - just realised it's Jerry Springer. Wow. I guess I really CAN be slow sometimes :L

the two compulsory ones are Ethnomusicology and Practicing Music Analysis. My electives are Opera: History, Issues, Approaches; Organology: Musical Instruments & Cultures; Greek and Roman Music (Which is actually a Classics module not a Music one) and Performance Studies.

If Glee were up to me, it would just be the cast of Glee writhing in agony whilst I sprayed them with deadly acid (having first removed their vocal cords).

Unfortunately, it isn't :dontknow:

Oh, Mike. We really need to get you in charge of Glee.

GLEE is awesome! It's the only US show that I will continue enjoying once Desperate Housewives ends! :'(

Argh, I am fretting.

I have my last exam tomorrow. I've come to the realisation that I'm going to fail this module. That's not me being self-deprecating, just realistic (please don't tell me I'll probably do fine). I missed the coursework deadline, so I've lost out on 50% of the final grade. In order to just pass I'd need to get at least 80% in the exam. Due to ill health, I missed a load of lectures and I'm struggling to catch up. The volume of stuff I need to know is immense, and the detail I need to know it in is intricate. There's just simply too much to learn before tomorrow afternoon.

That being the case, whenever I'm sitting down and studying I just feel stressed out and full of futility. There's no point in me sitting here beating my head with my books because I can't take it all in, because doing so isn't going to change the fact I'm going to epically fail tomorrow. However, any time I'm not attempting to study (like right now), I feel riddled with the guilt that I'm not making some kind of effort ><

What stuff is it, out of interest? And how much do you actually need to know?

I don't want it to end!! And there's only 4 episodes until the season finale!!! Are you up to speed with the American episodes or the UK ones?!

Medical microbiology, but it's oddly specific.

There's medical mycology, for which I need an overview of the biology of the filamentous and yeast type fungi, plus specific details of the life cycles, epidemiology, and mechanisms of entry, transmission, replication, invasion and pathogenesis for about 5 different fungi and associated mycoses.

Then there's medical parasitology, for which I need a general overview of the biology of several main families of pathogenic protists, plus specific details of life cycles, epidemiology, and mechanisms of entry, transmission, replication, invasion and pathogenesis for 6 different parasites and the associated diseases.

Then, for all of the listed pathogens, I need to know the state of current (and historical) chemotherapy, the patterns and mechanisms of resistance, plus strategies and targets for future rational drug design and vaccine development.

The detail required is down to the level of (for example) all of the molecular events that occur when Plasmodium parasites remodel host erythrocytes, all the molecular events that occur in the immune evasion strategies of Trypanosoma brucei etc.

THEN! For the remaining half of the module it's aspects of medical bacteriology. This bit mainly focused on tuberculosis and the mycobacteria, antibiotic resistance and future drug design, with a very molecular focus.

All in all, a hell of a lot of stuff, that I know approximately 5% of. Yay.
