I've already started on the old spec, got 01-04 to finish

I'm aiming for an A* too but an A would be nice
Try some nuffield, its really similar to new spec. Although you'll find some unit 5 stuff in unit 4.

I got 38/40 in Unit 6, so all I need is a D grade in unit 5 to get an A.

I've done some of nuffield, will do some more soon

I think I need a B/C not too sure since our teacher won't tell us what we have in unit 6

    Hey mate, hows it going?

With regards to the nuffield spec, would you recommend me trying out questions from there?

I'm retaking unit 4 too, so would there be nuffield papers for that too?

    cheers bro

For my insurance i only need one A, which will come from maths, hehe assuming I do good enough on C3 and C4 which I'm on target to do so.

Nah, I got D1 next week lol, then after that I'm just gonna do revision on the remaining exams 'like there's no tomorrow'...!

Im all good, what about you?

If your doing both units then thats perfect, that way you wont need to skip questions in the papers of unit 4 and 5.

Try them out, you'll see how similar they are to new spec. Thing is, new spec is old spec + nuffield, they've become one spec.

I got 13/14 12/12 and 13/14. Our teacher shows us the markscheme after he's done marking the papers, so i know where I lost my marks.

    Cool!

Hey, I realized that you did unit 1 in jan.

Could you please tell me the type of experiments that will come up? I'm not really good at writing them out, and they're usually 5 marks

and how many papers are available for me to try out?

    ALSO

This might be a silly question, but do you feel the nuffield papers help you understand the material more (due to it being more challenging) ?

I was so happy I did nuffield unit 1 papers, a question that i did in one of the papers came up in the jan 12 paper. It was the one to do with showing ions are present or whatever.

Checkout this chem factsheet, it has calorimetry experiments

Theres quite a few for you to try out.

You can get them here http://www.edexcel.com/i-am-a/studen...astpapers.aspx

    Choose GCE 2000 not 2008.
I think there are more papers but its a bit hard to find them.

Well to be honest, their were few new spec papers available for unit 4 and i felt that the old spec were slightly easier in comparison to the new spec so I didnt bother with them. Instead , I did all the nuffield papers I could find as they were testing my knowledge more than the old spec could.

    No problem.

I ended up getting 120/120 in the paper, I was completely suprised. But no complaints here, .

I've got loads more chemfact sheets, about 120. I can upload them if you like.
