Decision Time: Cardiff/ Nottingham/ KCL

I've got a month to choose my Med School, its between Cardiff, KCL and Notts.
Any comments from Medics on any of those courses would be really appreciated.

Feel free to ask any questions about cardiff.

However it's worth mentioning you may want to make your decision before the month is up so you get the best accomodation.

You can intercalate after year 3 or year 4 in a large variety of choices. Not sure what year that figure relates to but I know it's roughly 100 people each year and around 10% intercalate at a different university. Your eligibility to intercalate is dependent on exam performance.

Bear in mind the course is having big changes put in place, how this will effect intercalation I'm not sure. In case you haven't seen it, take a look at this: http://medicine.cf.ac.uk/medical-education/c21/vision/ It may help you with your decision.
KCL for the prestige, some of the best hospitals in the country. Also will money be an issue?
Nottingham for the campus, QMC and the 5 year intercalated degree.

Forgot to add well done i'd be chuffed with any of those unis

Cardiff! Cardiff is my dream Uni so this post is extremely biased.

If I could marry that University I would.

Choose Nottingham and you will have the priveledge of spending 5 years with me

:K:

In all honesty if I had that choice to make I'd probably chose KCL because I'd love to live in London.

List the Pros and Cons of each medical school, as you view them now.

Post these pros and cons, and we may then be able to help youl.

Liked Cardiff city the best, new Medical Centre is very nice. Campus is a little spread out (accommodation etc) as are some of the clinical placements appaz.

Preferred Notts course and campus, although a little confused as to whether their Bmedsci instead of iBsc would be competitive enough after FY1s.

I suppose King's is the most prestigious but I'm not particularly fussed and I don't think anyone in medicine will be. Hospitals are good but there is nothing to stop me coming back to them for FY1 from another Uni.
Feel free to throw any Nottingham-related questions my way
KCL, no contest for me to be honest.
