I'm talking about the letter, there is no way the Met would be stupid enough to admit that the act unlawfully.

No chance of you admitting you have some sort of anti-police agenda then?

It's not, the story is entirely true. The original poster was a Class War poster

Your link seems to have mysteriously disappeared, I wonder why?

EDIT: Besides it's a website run by a well known anarchist, Ian Bone, and one of the contributors is, you've probably guessed it by now, a certain David Hoffman.

Does this mean the the European Convention on Human Rights has actually done it's job for once and (albeit belately) protected the individual from arbitrary government?

    Rats!

No, because the letter's not real.

Perhaps you could find me a reliable source, not the blog of some anarchist where the supposed recipient of the letter is a contributor.

Given the national coverage of the original story do you not think that at least one reputable news outlet would have picked up the story by now if the letter were genuine?

I'm guessing that reputable sources have picked up on the story and either just laughed at the obviously fake letter or at least tried to determine its authenticity and have failed.

There is no way that the Met would have sent such a letter.

What makes you so certain the met would not have sent that letter?
