Regardless of what happens i hope the left realize just how high we are going to raise the bar in number and quality of bills/motions. The question is whether a 'rejuvinated' Labour party can keep up.

I think one of our advantages it that everyone in the party seems to be capable of producing a lot of bills for their departments, whereas in previous years we've had people who couldn't really think of any bills for their dept. Makes things miles easier

I find it funny watching JPKC trying to stress the "differences" between Labour and other parties, clearly in the hope we won't be able to form a coalition. I think someone is more than a little bitter. Thankfully, nobody seems to be falling for it.
Quite frankly I don't think you deserve to form the next government. You cruised to victory last night because of RL events, not your record here - which is incredibly poor.

Okay. I'd like to see more cross-party discussion, however.

    Nonsense.
    Let's look at Labour's record!

    - No bills passed.
    - Over half of the initial Cabinet have mysteriously vanished.
    - Coalition collapsed as a result of the leader's apathy.
    - Ridiculous bizarre pledges to give all young people free public transport.
    - Leading figures in the Party simply waiting for the leader to leave.

You 'won' the other day because at the moment RL Labour (MY Party) enjoy a 10% lead in opinion polls, don't pretend otherwise.

(Btw, in your sig it says "Minister of Education" - 1. you were actually a cabinet secretary, and 2. it should be 'for' education.)

    Okay :hi:

Just out of interest, what are you going to be up to this term?

Good, hopefully more bills can be written, and activity will increase.

Oh you know, just doing those odd peculiarities that TSR Labour seem so averse to - debating policy and what not.

I might even introduce a few bills!

I have this old fashioned belief that merit should play some role in this process. Other than TopHat, who occasionally engages with policy debate (like he did during the election), no Labour Party person has done any proper arguing here - no debating. I was literally the only member commenting more than one sentence on issues in the House - also in the Party sub-forum (though I won't go into detail there). You, xXediXx, David, the Chancellor have not contributed anything even vaguely intellectual and I would like to see that change before I reinvest my confidence in TSR Labour.

And you have been contributing intellectually? Are you having a laugh? Your contribution to this thread and in total to the MHoC has just been a few idiotic, rude, and pathetic comments that are meant to offend rather than help or inform. I'm not going to talk to you again until you learn that you're not as important as you believe yourself to be; GROW UP.

It's such a shame that JPKC is supporting attempts to subvert the will of the people. The people are obviously ecstatic with the Labour party's record in government - hence the granting of a vastly increased majority.

And what a fantastic record it is.

You may have the support of the electorate, but you don't yet have the support of the house.

With all due respect, I'd rather have the support of the electorate than the house.

It is actually a fact that this government is the first to be elected for a third time in a row - you could even say that in that measure, it's the most successful government ever.

You are not in government yet - there are still coalitions to build.

Besides, RL politics often affects TSR vote, as the Lib Dems have seen

Which government would that be exactly? The Labour/Lib Dem/Centre/UKIP one from last April, the Labour/Lib Dem one from last October, the Labour one from this February, or the one that's yet to be formed?

I'm confused. Did you mean to write unrealistic?

First Past The Post wouldn't really work in Model elections such as these because there are no proper/set constituencies in the Model. Frankly speaking, the structure of FPTP is too complicated for this forum. Hence, Proportional Representation is probably the best way to hold an election in the MHoC
Actually, there are 650 Members of Parliament. There aren't that many seats here because of my previous statement, and frankly speaking, we wouldn't have the activity to justify 650 or so seats.
I meant to say realistic because the forum will need a coalition and in real life a coalition has formed.
