I completely agree but the fact that your post has been negged shows what absolute nuggets we're up against. Morons.

It illustrates just how many left with nonces TSR contains... people who will actually defend the Labour party, people who believe a person has a divine right to have children AND if they cannot afford them, "society" should fund their family....

Are you suggesting people don't have a divine right to have children?

    ie how'd you stop them?

The cost of children that people cannot afford ALWAYS falls on society, whatever is done - where else would it fall?

I didnt say I would stop them, I meant I wouldnt encourage them by giving them money. They'd soon stop when the money they are given doesnt fund their wide screen TV!

What happened pre-1945? I never heard about people dying left right and centre! Oh I know, people didnt have kids unless they could afford them......

There were more options then; we were still an empire so the armed forces were much larger, we actually had a manufacturing sector to speak of, the coal mines were open, there was shipbuilding and the population was much much lower and we had full control over our borders. Basically there were enough jobs to go round.

Also, the education system actually prepared people for work, apprenticeships WERE apprenticeships, not shelf stacking jobs on half pay.

Re: Not clamping down on benefits is destroying the UK
getting rid of benefits is not the answer.. the welfare state in my view, is on the whole good. We should keep the NHS, free healthcare at the point of access, yes we should pay taxes and yes we should pay NI contributions but things should be free at the point of access. I would hate to have a system where if I needed treatment in a hospital I couldn't have any until I had proven I had the funds to pay.

Having said that, benefit dependency needs to stop. Trouble is, people aren't supported appropriately to return to work. I'm on benefits at the moment after a period of ill heath. I'd love to work again but I need a suitable job and there just aren't the jobs out there because governments (and yes they are pretty much as the same) have failed to do the right thing and look after the people. They all care too much about themselves! If they cared (if they had to struggle to afford milk etc) they would soon realise the need for change. That isn't to say we should abolish benefits but we should abolish hand outs. I do lots of voluntary work and I'm keen to look for work and further myself. We should cull benefit dependency!

The government should stop giving middle class families rewards for giving birth (child tax credits).

Oh woe is me, i only earn £40,000 a year and am over the cut off point for gov hand outs. How the Laura Ashley foral bed spread will i afford my spawn now?!!

I actually saw some middle class mummy moaning to this effect on the tv.

The cut off should be half what it is now.

Weren't Labour the party against colonialisation in the 50s and 60s who gave it all away?

and we had full control over our borders.
Didn't Labour give this up too?

Are you saying Labour's vocational GCSE and A Levels in subjects like Construction Studies aren't useful???

The fact you have highlighted there arent many jobs means the country needs to buckle up- not be spending money for Kerri-Ann to be having little "Alfie".....
