That was my sanctuary back the days of my old accounts. I would just pour my heart out there any read the replies, they would always bring a smile to my face.

The character of TSR has changed too. There's much less of an obnoxious snobbery which I came to love. I miss it. There was a powerful sense of community then.

I fear TSR is being dissolved.

That place was a nightmare to mod. That's the unanimous opinion of everyone who ever modded there btw :p:

GD might have been somewhat manageable in 2006, but TSR has grown a lot since then, it's simply not possible to have a massive general forum for all structured discussion on any topic.

Maybe GD modding should be left for the elite then. Just cause it's hard to mod doesn't mean it should be scrapped. It was hard to mod because it was so popular

The elite? Like the TSR SAS or something? Tbf that's the current D&CA mod team in a nutshell :awesome:

Being able to deal with a disorganised forum doesn't mean we're being elite, it just means we're wasting our time and being inefficient. And since we're all busy people who volunteer as mods in our spare time, that's really not a good idea :nah:

It's actually 945,775 members. 90% of them are probably zombies though.

But yeah, in seriousness, GD was a massive waste. The majority of the traffic went there and threads were being created on a ridiculous level - the mod reports/post queues became immense in just one afternoon. Threads weren't being created in their proper forums and given the specialisation of forums we have spread over the site, it made zero sense. Also, it was really easy to troll/flout other rules as comments would get lost amongst posts and it simply does not breed a nice atmosphere.

It's not that GD modding was actually hard us such; the thing is, a lot (probably the majority) of it was just moving threads out of there to where they *should* have been posted in the first place. On a good day, perhaps half of the threads needed moving; on worse occasions, the first page of the forum could easily just be a wall of redirects.

There's the occasional thread that would suit GD, but the vast majority of threads can easily find a home elsewhere on the site.

Because I'm sure you could do it much better.

Can you abseil down a burning building whilst dishing out warning points? If not then don't even bother filing out the form.

    2 words.

    Hell no.

The fact that the site is becoming less full of obnoxious snobs is a really positive thing.

GD was a ****hole tbh, TSR is much better otherwise. Those who want it back are unable to think where their thread fits.
