What happened to the 15 x and where is the power 5 gone?

15x belongs to the first bracket bit right? Because between them, there is an invisible times sign..?

The 15x comes from the first part. What they are doing is saying (1+3x)^5=(1+3x)(1+3x)^4 and then taking out a common factor of (1+3x)^4

    Re: [C3] Differentiation Question
    15x(1+3x)^4 + (1+3x)^5

    15x(1+3x)^4 + (1+3x)(1+3x)^4

Then the common factor is taken out

    tooooooooooo slow
