Who's got an offer for Queen Margaret University 2012 entry?
Couldn't find a thread for this, so who has been accepted for 2012 entry at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh?
I've been accepted for BA (Hons) Media, conditional and I need 260 UCAS points for entry
I think it would be nice to talk to others who have been accepted at the University
Don't be shy

Re: Who's got an offer for Queen Margaret University 2012 entry?
Hey.

I got an offer for QMU, I need to get 195 UCAS tariff points. I got a conditional for (Bs) Psychology and Sociology. I recently got an email from Queen
Margaret Uni inviting me to an open day for Social Science and Arts related courses. I'm likely to go there but if I get an offer from Napier (no reply yet) then might go there but QMU seems cool!

Re: Who's got an offer for Queen Margaret University 2012 entry?Since you're doing Psychology and I've got an offer for Psychology and Sociology we're bound to be in some of the same lectures if you go to QMU. I'm waiting on Napier to get back to me, if I get an offer I'd probably put them as my firm and QMU as my insurance but I'm really not sure what I'll do because I loved the visit to the campus so I might change my mind. I'm really excited about uni - probably gonna regret saying that LOL :L(Original post by ntl1907)

Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh: applicants 2012
Is there anyone who has applied for Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh? It would be great to share your opinions and stuffs...

I have applied for bachelor in Business Management... and I am holding a conditional offer
what do you think about QMU? I know it is not a university with sounding reputation (how could it be when it's so young) but I have been to the campus and quite liked it -
Re: Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh: applicants 2012Hey I've applied for BA(Hons) Media for 2012. I've firmed my conditional offer and can't wait(Original post by ddaannyyeell)

I went to the visit day at the beginning of March and absolutely loved the campus! Like you said its a really young university but they staff and students were really nice
The accommodation was a bit basic, but then again its halls so it doesn't really bother me lol. Have you firmed your offer?? -

I've applied for BA Film and Media, haven't heard anything yet. I can't visit the campus before September, can you describe it a little bit? I've seen pictures and videos, but what impression did you have? How's the crowd? And did you visit the Media department and met some staff and students? I appreciate any additional input

the campus is brilliant
its all very modern and theres so many computers! Swans just walk around the campus and theres 2 or 3 ponds. The lecture theatre and classrooms are all state of the art, and you get a student card that acts as a key for the rooms. The accommodation is quite small but fine for students. The student union looks really good and so does the gym. The train station is right on campus and it takes 6 minutes to get to edinburgh city centre. Overall the campus is brilliant and quite compact but it has everything you need, including a food court and shops.

Re: Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh: applicants 2012Yeah its not too far(Original post by StineS)
that sounds very good! thank you so much! I heard it's quite close to the sea. For me, that's a big plus as well
did you talk to some current students?
and the town of musselburgh is very nice! Yeah I was given the tour by a current student and she said she loved it and that everyone was very nice and the university was a brilliant place to do a degree because it was smaller and the staff could get to know you better

Re: Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh: applicants 2012unfortunately, I haven't seen the accommodation as there was no one to show me... so I know it only from videos and pictures(Original post by jgibson18)

but I consider renting a flat somewhere in Portobello maybe if I go there... I am still not sure...
I haven't yet firmed my offer as I am waiting for the decision from Napier (but I am afraid that even if get an offer from Napier I won't be able to meet the condition as I am expecting it to be exaggerated) -
Re: Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh: applicants 2012
the campus is a bit off the city... but in my opinion it is not that bad - it's 30 minutes on bus or 6 or 10 on train (but the train ticket is quite expansive according to what I've found)...

anyway, the campus is really nice, state of the art facilities...
have you guys applied for other unis?
I have also applied for Napier and Glasgow Caledonian... what do you think of these two in comparison to QMU?
and what do you think about the reputation of QMU? more than reputation I mean job prospects?
but I loved visiting the QMU campus too, going to see Heriott Watt so i can make my mind up soon haha
