To be honest it sounds a bit like what you're saying is that you haven't found anyone you want to be friends with because they aren't into the same things as you or the societies are too small etc. I do sympathise with you because it can be a lonely time if you feel like you aren't connecting with people but you're the only person that can change this. Which is actually a good thing because you CAN change it!

Is the Uni in or near a relativately big town or City? Have a look on the net for social groups or meetups etc, maybe even bowling teams or reading groups?

Maybe make a bit more effort to go out with the people you live with even if clubbing isn't that enjoyable for you, you don't have to get hammered, just go for an hour or two and have a couple of drinks. But don't go with the attitude of 'I hate clubbing, these people aren't like me etc' just accept that it may not be the most enjoyable night of your life but that you're out socialising which is a good thing.

If you distance yourself from people then they're going to do the same thing and you will feel even more isolated. I'm sure there are lots of people out there who want to do the same things as you but they aren't going to know about you if you don't put yourself out there. Give people a chance and put yourself in some situations that you might feel a little but awkward or uncomfortable in but do it with an open mind and see what happens

this unis crap at societies im in one but thats at risk of being closed down to lack of participants. and yes im in a flat but all they care about is going out and getting hammered agin we talk when we see each other but dont click as friends cos i dont want to go out and get hammered

Oh right, which society is that?
I guess, if you want to save it, you could talk to the 'higher' members and see if they can promote it somehow in order to gain other people?
Hm.. can you not go out with your flatmates and just not get drunk? I have friends who do that,

politics society, we will have to see in a meeting next week if we can carry it on but its highly unlikley. and no i really wouldn't feel conformable going out and getting drunk especially not with them

Your avatar nearly got me again... but this time I didn't fall for it :u:
get into voluntary work near your university, hospitals, play groups , nursing homes, it will give you a chance to get out, and make yourself feel better, and you'll meet loads of new people, suprisingly of your age.

What was the reason for the people not swapping a time with you?
But hm.. there must be at least 1 person who is nice to you.. surely?

Well, I suppose the positive thing now is that uni must be over for you for the summer.
You needn't worry about anything until September.
