Yep read that too, might be a tad lower as that was based on last year's CL money I think.

So the 80 million available from the Ronaldo sale is still available then. Oh wait...

Shock horror! The club lied about its dire financial situation and money available for transfers. Some people need to get real and realise that we will not be spending big on any player this summer or for the forseeable future
We spent around £50m last summer on De Gea, Jones and Young. Around £29m the summer/winter before on Lindegaard (£5m), Smalling (£10m), Bebe (£7m) and Hernandez (£7m). So yes that's well gone.

And about wages - we've got a business model which means that we won't go over 50% turnover. We're already below that. With Berbatov and Owen permanently off our books we're getting rid of around 140-150k a week of wage, and Rio's new contract is also going to be negotiated down. So yes we can offer players excellent wage (not the stupid amounts) but whether we choose to is a different matter.

Not having a midfielder who can score goals.
Not having a midfielder under 30 who can make incisive passes
Not having a midfielder who can boss a game physically.
Not having a reliable actual RB
    Not having a reliable LB
    Having 1 world class player.

    Enough problems?

FWIW, still cant see hazard joining us, the bloke from Crewe is far more our league fee-wise.
Nani, Valencia, Young all score goals.
Why does it matter if they are under-30 (gotta say that Carrick has to go)
    Phil Jones/Valencia could do that
I suppose we do need to sell Evra and Rafael and get some new guys in there
    And finally we have Rooney...

You're absolutely clueless if you think Carrick has to go. Our best Central midfielder, and arguably the top 5 CM's in the league this season, it's a crying shame he didnt get in the England squad. And why on earth would we sell Evra or Rafael considering Fabio will go out on Loan and Rafael has come on amazingly this year, and is a good right back now, better than Smalling/Jones.

When he says midfielder I am presuming he isn't including wingers.
    Carrick has to go? Lol.
Jones will be brilliant but he isn't a finished player yet, Valencia is on the wing.
Evra had some shocking displays, although it was more at the start of the season in my mind. Although still world class when on form.

He does nothing defensively and he's got Berbatov syndrome.

We should sell Evra because he's been horribly inconsistent and Rafael only played 17 games this season (compared with Jones who played 41 and Smalling who played 30).

The Ronaldo fee was to be on top of the traditional transfer funds not in place.. Well that is what we got told, we often spend £40mil on average a year on transfers so it shouldn't be gone.

I still think Torres and Rooney would make the greatest partnership up front in Premier League history.

Admittedly there is a fine line between Chelsea, City and United. Any of these clubs is a massive step up from Lille. He will probably go to the club which offers the most money.

I can see him being lured by the London factor though.

What? why the hell would we go for this deluded guy?..We'd have to fork out £30m+ for a guy who has scored 11 goals in more than a year!
    Waste of money!
Also the priority should be a CDM not a striker!

that is true but i really think torres can shine at utd. But thinking of it we cant really get him if we cant give chicha/berba a place in the team.

Michael Owen linked with Stoke City. Would be a good fit, neither have played any football in years.

I'd expect Berba to go back to Germany.

He's been linked with Lazio but I'm sure a large number of European clubs would be interested.

I know youve been quoted on this post for its stupidity a number of times but ill add to it.

It was surely obvious I meant a CM. Wingers are wingers. CM's are midfielders.
A midfielder under 30 means they have some longevity.
Phil Jones could boss a game physically from CB/RB and Valencia could do it from RW. LOL

Yes like I said we have one world class player.

Harsh, seeing as Owen did have a couple appearances this season.

Rooney and Torres were born to play with each other, SAF knows this.

Without a doubt, when on form Torres is unstoppable but his fee would be huge for any club. I think Chelsea would benefit from re-building their team around somebody like Hulk who's more Drogba-esque.

    Vidic.
    Nani on his day.
Scholes, clearly, he is up there with the best of them

    Anyway
Cant see us buying a striker. We are clearly becoming attracted to players to put behind the striker and i cannot see SAF giving Welbeck and Hernandez even less time than they will if we get someone for that role by introducing some star striker.

0 - Manchester United didn't lose after taking the lead in any PL game this season, but didn't win after going behind either. Decided.
