Re: The Manchester United Thread IXBeing slightly more serious for a second, yes Wenger would loathe selling a player to us, but the ball is very much in RvP's court, if he makes it clear we are the only club he will sign for there's not much Wenger can do. Chances of him doing that are pretty slim though seeing as both other clubs who have bid will offer him significantly higher wages. If you believe what the papers say Juve are prepared to give him £190k a week after tax.

Re: The Manchester United Thread IX
Last summer with Nasri was probably the only time I can remember United making a bid for an Arsenal player whereas in the past - with links to Vieira and Henry - there was always just interest. So Wenger hasn't really had the regularity to reject any transfers to us. Nasri last summer was the probably the first time he clearly didn't want to sell to us. But, if he had a choice and could sell either Nasri or RVP to us, he'd rather it be the latter. I'm not fussed about RVP, if he comes then great and we'll trust SAF but if not, then the midfield situation becomes worrying. The hunt for Moura just sounds abit panicky for me.

Re: The Manchester United Thread IXI just have a feeling this'll break it. RVP may go to Citeh, but I do recall him really not getting on with Nasri. I genuinely think that could be a dealbreaker. He knows he'd win things at Utd. Juventus certainly is viable but would he move all his family to a new country? Possibly but I don't think so. Nobody knows, so we'll see.(Original post by 419)
What makes you think it'll be different this time? -
Re: The Manchester United Thread IXI see. Footballers are careerist in your point of view who may not keep in a club, if they are not successful. If you have not success as footballer, you are a loser. Is it that what did you want to say?(Original post by Mistersjmcg)

Re: The Manchester United Thread IXI really don't see it. Maybe it's just me but eventhough City are the defending champions, United are still the team to catch and just like the Nasri case, I don't see him joining you. Plus, the other teams can probably offer more him more than you can.(Original post by DaveSmith99)

I'm sure they get on well. I can remember Nasri saying on his twitter that RVP should've been on the Baloon dor list. Ade on the other hand(Original post by Whitechapel)

Re: The Manchester United Thread IXYeah, City are still favourites and we are the least likely from the three to sign him, but its possible.(Original post by 419)

Re: The Manchester United Thread IXNasri is the only other Arsenal we ever bid for. ....(Original post by 419)
When was the last time Wenger sold a player to Utd despite the intense interest in Arsenal players from your club?
Sounds like I didn't miss much in the friendly. Not surprised to read of Ando having a poor game at left wing - its not his ****ing position, Fergie, ffs. Next week we'll try Evra at CM, eh?Last edited by Kevmeister; 22-07-2012 at 01:38. -
Re: The Manchester United Thread IX
All of Kagawas touches in the game incase anyone wants to watch
Not too bad for your first proper game in a make shift side. Obviously most of it is usual normal passes but some excellent passes, willingness to get involved and deceptively good at keeping the ball under pressure.

Re: The Manchester United Thread IXCity aren't favourites anymore, we are ... according to the bookies anyway. I cannot see van persie signing for city, I genuinly thinks he hates the club, nasri.. had that thing with adebayor back then (I'm aware ade has left) Juve or United, Italian league is less desirable and he has to move his family etc.(Original post by DaveSmith99)

Van persie will be a united player within these two months or move for a free wherever next season (unless arsenal win the league
).

If, he won't not injured and plays through this season, he will play his 300th match for ManUtd. at the end of the season.

Yeah true, but i think RVP would actually want to come to us. He's hardly won much in his career and i think we would be the best option for him. Serie A can hardly compete with the BPL,and Serie A has lost two of of their biggest names in the Zlat and T.silva. Yes,city are going to win things too,but utd is more stable,is the worlds biggest sports name and the opportunity to work with SAF. Plus city is full of big headed players with even bigger ego's. If he does opt for City,i look forward to more internal scraps down at the Etihad(Original post by charlie9872)
He's 1/1 to join United and 5/2 to City.
I very much doubt he'll come to us, its all media hype, all our strikers said they're not leaving and Mancini's said he's happy with them - the daily fail don't seem to understand this though.
