Average private tuition $15 thousand. Average Catholic tuition $6 thousand..........It's probably the same in the UK, but in the U.S. and Australia the catholic parish supplements the tuition reducing it considerably. The significant difference in cost makes it affordable for most families. Some of these Catholic schools offer an education that is every bit as good and prestigious as the non-Catholic affiliated schools. The only catch is you would have to subject yourself or child to Catholicism. They don't force kids to take communion or go to confession, but there are certainly mandatory chapels and courses on religion. I can only assume that some attempt at indoctrination would occur. It may be subtle, but it would certainly be there.
1. I am not Catholic and I don't particularly care for the Catholic Church
2. I do believe that private schools offer a safer, better learning environment.
Would you be willing to subject yourself/your child to a Catholic education if you believed it would provide a level of education that was previously unavailable?
I think I would as a means-to-an-end. -

Re: Average private tuition $15 thousand. Average Catholic tuition $6 thousand......I received a top-notch education at a Catholic school here in the States and love the institution dearly. I would not have been able to attend had I not received a full scholarship.
That said, I started out as an ardent Catholic in my first year and graduated as an atheist. If there's anything four years of intensive comparative religious and theological study have taught me, it's that all religions are demonstrably false and you would have to go to great lengths of self-deceit to convince yourself otherwise. -

Re: Average private tuition $15 thousand. Average Catholic tuition $6 thousand......Met a lot of people who've been to catholic schools in UK and not one of them has been catholic and generally took the preaching with a pinch of salt.
I think considering the great access to information people have many can make their own mind up. If I had children I wouldn't mind, it may even better them knowing what they're arguing against and getting first hand experience of religion can't be a bad thing. -
