Has Anyone used psychometric tests to find out what jobs they are suited to?

    Has Anyone used psychometric tests to find out what jobs they are suited to?
    I guess most of us will fall into career rather than actively choosing these? I think the problem is that, unless you have a burning passion from a young age, such as to be a doctor, lawyer, etc, then it is really difficult to know what career would make us happy.

    There are sites out there that offer career coaching and psychometric testing. It seems to me that tests that would help us identify careers we are best suited to would be really useful.

    What do you think? And have you tried any?

    They aren't terribly reliable. If you need a test to tell you what you should be doing with your life then there is something wrong, it should be about what you're interested in. One of the tests told me I should be a Royal Navy Officer, I'm studying Electrical Engineering...
