I really miss New York... :(
Last year I went to NYC and absoloutely loved it. It was the best place I've ever been.

The trouble is is that I can't see myself going back there any time soon even though I'd really love too. My summer holiday this year is likely to be within Europe.

Anyone love NYC as much as I do? And has anyone found any good deals to NYC?

I've been looking at going, I have never been there yet, I'm going to try and save up so I can go because even the cheapest deals I could find were about £2k

I went in 2006, so that's 6 long years of yearning to go back.

I went last summer for 1 week and it was pretty damn awesome, though I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't so hot (got above 40 degrees celsius on a few days; people were dying, literally!). I'd definitely love to return on day, either in autumn or spring.

I spent the whole time in Manhattan as well - next time I'll explore further afield (plus I hear the best restaurants are found in the boroughs ). Maybe I could incorporate it into a little east coast tour - Boston, Maine....

I visited NYC I think two or three years back, and walked from Central Pack down to the Statue of Liberty viewing platform/dock. That was awesome.
I loved NYC and I'd love to live there.

go on travel supermarket and check for flights alone, not package deals. Other good sites: sky-scanner

Then hostel world is a good one for hostels...

    Same!
July 2006, best month of my life. I was in a band, and we did three gigs over there, including Central Park Bandstand, most amazing concert we've ever done.

But since then I've had college and uni, and certainly nowhere near the amount of money I'd need to go back.

Now that I've almost graduated, I'm in the position of possibly being able to go there for a while, but haven't decided whether to take up the offer yet due to a couple of issues. But I know I'll go back someday.

We used Expedia. Flights in premium economy, 5 nights on Park Avenue in a lovely hotel. Came to a grand each. That was late November.

Been a couple of times: 2001 and 2005 (or 2008' genuinely can't remember! I think it was probably '08 though...)

But yeah, absolutely loved it! Was also lucky enough to go to the world trade center shortly before the attacks. A friend and I are hoping to go next year on our gap years, but I have to say it's looking increasingly like not happening

I'm going to be living in Washington from August, so I'll be heading to NYC a lot. Only 2 hours away!
