    Home diarrhoea remedies?
Basically I have had an awful stomach all day. I know this is probably TMI, but it feels like I am peeing out my butt!!!! I have raided the cupboards for diarrhoea treatments, but I can't find anything, and I live out in the country so its impossible to get out to buy anything. I have tried eating crisps, but nothing seems to be working!!!!

Please someone help me, there must be something I can eat or something which will help, its awful!!

Just make sure you dont get dehydrated. Get some rehydration salts and batten down the hatches.

Nah bro. You need to keep hydrated (with rehydration salts, not just water).

You are losing lots of water through your rear end so you need to keep topped up.

Your're also losing body salts so need rehyration salts like SpaghettiFellOut (username::mmm:) rightly suggested.

Buy some Dioraltye blackcurrant flavour and chug them as is directed on the packet. DON'T eat spicy rich foods and stick to the simple stuff like broth soups, a little bread etc.

I was always made a horrible drink of water, salt and sugar when I was ill as a kid. Seemed to work, there's probably some recipes on the internet.

My mum and aunts always say to have boiled eggs when you have diarrhea. You can try that one. Hope you get better soon.

Seriously, being dehydrated is a lot worse and a lot more serious. You need to drink pint after pint of water. I don't know how you don't know this, that that is why diarrhea can be serious. You are losing valuable salts and electrolytes as well as water. Please drink lots of water. Can you get someone to go to the chemist for you? You ideally will need something else other than water to help you recover faster- Dioralyte which comes in lemon or blackcurrant flavours or there's another one, Oral Rehydration Therapy. I don't recommend making some salty mixture yourself, the balance needs to be right and chances are it would make you worse or cause you to be sick.

What kind of food should one eat when having diarrhea please?

I know you said keep it simple (and that's what I'm trying to do). But one gets sick of bananas after a while lol. I take some bread as well, and I've heard rice is good - but is there anything you can add to it?

I know this is unlikely to happen; but you need to be careful you don't drink too much water as it can kill.

Force someone to go to the chemist for you and get them to buy some Dioralyte and Immodium. In the meantime, keep drinking water, keep eating bread (buttered if it'll make it more palatable).
