Re: Have access to EPLIndex (stats website)No real way to see the best of anything really, which does suck.(Original post by chrissmithstoke)
Best crossers of the season? (accuracy and number/ number per minute if possible)
But if you give me a list of players you want to compare it wont take long purely to look at their crossing stats (being number of crosses, number of accurate crosses, and crossing accuracy %). Doesnt specifically have a crosses per minute figure but can also add the number of minutes they have played which should do when calculated with total crosses figure
And Jermaine Pennant stats versus Theo Walcott

Re: Have access to EPLIndex (stats website)Crossing wise for this season(Original post by chrissmithstoke)
Okay then. Just heard a rumour Jermaine Pennant had the most accurate crosses so could I have: Pennant, Nani, Bale & Ashley Young?
Spoiler:Show
Nani
Minutes Played 1901
Accurate Crosses 40
Total Crosses 195
Crossing Accuracy 21%
Ashley Young
Minutes Played 1332
Accurate Crosses 25
Total Crosses 127
Crossing Accuracy 20%
Bale
Minutes Played 2767
Accurate Crosses 44
Total Crosses 167
Crossing Accuracy 26%
Pennant
Minutes Played 1626
Accurate Crosses 67
Total Crosses 219
Crossing Accuracy 31%
He does seem quite a bit ahead. But then you only have to look at the teams to see some of the reasons for the differences.
(Original post by Deshi)
What defines accurate crossing though? If a player on his team gets his head to it?
That would be my guess too (or a volley etc ofcourse) .Not the best way of working it out i guess but other options such as any dangerous cross even if the player misses it, seem like a much harder job and adds some subjectivity to it, oh well.Last edited by Tommyjw; 13-04-2012 at 14:01. -
Re: Have access to EPLIndex (stats website)Yeah I guess it's not the best way but there aren't many better ways of doing it. I was just asking because the results wouldn't be a fair representation because Pennant is aiming for Crouch who's going to win most of the crosses so he should have the higher crossing accuracy in theory and he does.(Original post by Tommyjw)

Do you have to pay for this website or something?Price ranges from £15 to £40 a year, depending on the package you pay for.(Original post by Tommyjw)
But ye you do have to pay, cant remember how much though
Purely out of curiosity, stats for Jussi Jaaskelainen and Adam Bogdan, s'il vous plait?
In my head, I picture Bolton and have thought for a few years now "Their defence is totally **** but they get the results and avoid relegation because Jussi's a damn good goalie", and when Bogdan got the odd game here and there last season he was pish. Bogdan's been playing far more regularly this season and Bolton find themselves in trouble...but the two of them have played roughly the same number of games over the course of the season, so I'm wondering how their stats stack up to each other. Might actually make me change my opinions on Adam Bogdan (who I still think is pish
) if his stats are better than Jaaskelainen's...and they probably are, as well

Cuz De Gea be bitchen. -
Re: Have access to EPLIndex (stats website)Sure For reference i put in a few of the favs. Kompany, Evans , Verm+ Kosc for comparison, i even chucked in Rio cuz i love him and wanted to see how he fared. Probably others i could have put but **** it.(Original post by Deshi)
Can we get one for Colocinni? Newcastle fans mentioning him being the second best CB in the league and I'm just curious to see what the stats show.
Spoiler:Show
Had to put 3 on top 3 on bottom else image when gay and smaller, so for quick reference as it looks **** heres some comparisons. In order of best statistically (apologies if any mistakes)
(Added Skrtel after)
All the working
Spoiler:Show
Ground 50-50 win %
Skrtel = Rio > Kompany > Kosc > Evans > Verm > Colo
Aerial 50-50 win %
Skrtel > Kompany > Rio > Evans = Kosc > Verm > Colo
Tackle success %
Rio > Verm > Kompany > Skrtel > Evans > Colo > Kosc
Mins per loss of possession
Skrtel > Kompany > Rio > Colo > Evans > Kosc > Verm
Pass completion %
Evans > Rio > Kompany > Verm > Kosc > Colo > Skrtel
How many times dribbled past
Verm > Skrtel > Kompany > Evans > Rio > Kosc > Colo
Defensive Errors
Evans = Colo = Skrtel> Kompany > Verm = Rio = Kosc
Interceptions
Kosc > Kompany > Colo > Verm > Evans = Rio > Skrtel
Next
Simply gave 1 to 6 for their respective positions, added them up, lowest wins and based on these statistics alone who is best. Not saying this is a strong piece of evidence, but still.
So it ends up as
Kompany (19) > Skrtel (23) > Rio (24) > Evans (29) > Verm (31) > Kosc (35) > Colo (38)
Make of it what you will
I think i overdid it, but i was bored.Last edited by Tommyjw; 17-04-2012 at 01:20. -
Re: Have access to EPLIndex (stats website)You should have done it in order of "minutes per x" rather than the amount of tackles for example. Also, why did you leave it stuff like "interceptions" and "successful last man tackle"? Seems very arbitrary to only consider some of those criteria.(Original post by Tommyjw)
