What was your frst year living costs?
How much did you spend in your first year, and what type of accommodation, if any, did you have?

Accommodation was Oak House I paid £75 a week but price usually goes up each year.

Its very hard to calculate beforehand simply because it all depends on your lifestyle, takeaway every night and going out makes it seriously expensive.

Many people go with the intention of moderating number of nights out etc but then get there and everyone is wanting to go out a lot.

Personally I spent about £20 on food (made it myself and took pack lunches), £30 on going out roughly 2 nights a week, a bus pass averages out at £5 a week then usually ended up spending about £10-15 on random stuff like stationary or books etc

What was the most you spent in a week? Also, what are your views on Ashburne Hall? How far is it from the main campus, on a bike?

Ashburne by bike is about 10 minutes depending on traffic and where you want to be. Honestly I'd get a bus pass you will save so much on taxis and with the amount of rain in Manchester cycling can be a pretty miserable option in the winter.

It's a nice hall had a friend who lived there said it was expensive but felt she got value for money, however don't set your heart on getting in as it is extremely over-subscribed despite what the website says.

In one week I have no idea since there were times when I had to buy a new pair of glasses, pay my insurance on laptop etc.
