    Hull University SEPT 2012
    Hello!

I'm hopefully going to be studying at Hull uni in september and i was wondering if anyone has advice on accommodation and information on the actual subjects.

I have lived away from home for two years already and lived in a 'halls' type situation before and hated it. I don't want to move into halls but it's seeming like i have to.

Also! Anyone going into Aquatic Zoology or other biological science subjects or who are already in one of these subjects that can tell me about what resources are like, the teachers and other stuff like that.

    Thanks!

In regard to the accommodation, I'm pretty sure there is lots of student housing available where you live in small groups instead of the flat system in halls - not much better than halls imo but it could be a good alternative for you.
yeah, but in the student accommodation that i live in at the moment you have to have a set group of people living in the house in order for you to buy it. Unfortunately i don't know anyone going to the same uni at the moment so it's starting to look like i'm going to have to look for ads advertising rooms that are free and stuff!

If you apply for accommodation through the scheme then you will be put into housing with people doing similar degrees to yourself.

If you apply for accommodation in The Scheme through the university they should be able to put you in a house, usually with about 5 other people. The housing available through The Scheme isn't usually particularly nice though - you get the houses left over from when the 2nd and 3rd years chose their's. Alternatively, you could apply for one of the university owned houses?

Yeah, that's what they say. . . I'm a historian and I ended up with people studying law, management, psychology, PPE, and criminology, so a complete mix!

I'm studying Mechanical engineering and I ended up in a house with another engineer, a physics student and three computer scientists. They don't match you completely but they match similar subjects and subject areas.

Does anyone else know of any other psychology students? I'm really struggling to find some more, and I'd like someone to talk to. XD
Anyway, I've firmed Hull and I'm on my way for the results, so I really hope I'll be there in September! I can't wait.
