Please tell us what "crime" he has committed.

He obviously downloaded gay porn, but clearly didn't mean to project it in front of children - so what? It was an accident. (OK he very foolishly put the wrong memory stick in or something but watching gay porn does not make you a criminal).

It's the fact that he encouraged the children to give their money to the church and ran out the room without apologising that pisses me off! He also decided to blame it on someone else, acting as if he had no idea how they came up. Doesn't this just show that priests are human and not divine?, coming from an Irish-Catholic family it would be considered sinful for me to say anything about a priest, even a paedophile. Priests should be allowed to marry whomever they'd like, regardless of gender. This tolerance of religion needs to stop, when it concerns hate and discrimination, the law needs to come into action. If religions where to allow priests to marry and openly be gay, there wouldn't be as much homophobia or sexual taboos as there are now.

It seems unlikely that a Catholic clergyman would be involved in deviant sexual behaviour like this. It wouldn't surprise me if this was an act of sabotage to, once again, make the Catholic Church look bad. Look how the secular media, led by the BBC, has run with this story. Yes it is ilegal. But there's a difference between purposely showing them (which should be punishable) and accidentally showing them. As the priest denies, naturally, that he knew he had it on his USB it's fair to say it was an accident.

Hello Marcusfox,

I agree. Many people, regardless of belief in God, struggle with homosexuality and porn, not just some priests.

This priest needs help. Homosexuality is not encouraged or condoned by God. There is a group called Exodus International. Ex-gay people created this group as a support group to help people who believe in God and who believe the Scriptures are true, and who want to be rescued from homosexual inclinations. By God's grace, many people have been rescued from homosexuality and from addiction to porn too.
