Re: Curvy girls or skinny girls?
Both "rule"! I can understand how some people see curvy as more attractive and healthy-looking, but you know, sometimes when people accentuate the view of "curvy is better!", it can put naturally skinny/slim people down, especially when they find it very difficult to put on weight - and trust me, some of us do, no matter how much we consume!

Re: Curvy girls or skinny girls?Erm, actually no. There are certain medical problems that cause difficulty in gaining weight(Original post by sil3nt_cha0s)
they simply don't eat enough.none of this "can't put on weight/my metabolism is too fast" crap. if you can't put on weight, eat more. if you still can't put on weight, eat even more.
i bet if these girls actually counted the calories of everything they ate, they'd realise they're not eating a lot, however much they claim otherwise.
Oh and OP - curvy is a body type not a size. You can be size 8 and curvy and you can be size 12 and curvy. Why don't people understand this? Being curvy doesn't necessarily equate to being larger than a size 10 FYI.Last edited by sarahthegemini; 05-04-2012 at 18:01. -
Re: Curvy girls or skinny girls?I guarantee that 99.99% don't suffer from them. It is as simple as eating more. Drink calories (in the form of whole milk) if you find it hard to eat enough.(Original post by sarahthegemini)

People are quick to say they have certain medical conditions
but all they need to do is eat more.

Re: Curvy girls or skinny girls? No, it really isn't as simple as that. I have a medical condition where one of the main issues with it is difficulty in gaining weight. So I know about this stuff(Original post by sil3nt_cha0s)

Re: Curvy girls or skinny girls?
Why is it, there are so many girls that claim to be curvy constantly making threads like this? Slagging off skinnier girls and making them feel inferior? It must be down to insecurities because I can't imagine someone that is truely happy with their body shape would make such disgusting threads where skinny girls are treated like they are inferior.
People need to remember that 'curvy' is a shape, not a size. Those "skinny size 6-8" girls that regularly get slagged off could be just as curvy as a size 12. Being smaller doesn't always mean not having curves. And on that note, what the hell does it matter if some of us don't have curves anyway? If some of us are more straight-up-and-down? Some of us don't have big boobs and big hips. We're still just as womanly as you curvy lot. -
Re: Curvy girls or skinny girls?Have you tried having 4000-5000kcal every day (from proper food like eggs, milk, nuts etc.) for at least 6 months?(Original post by sarahthegemini)

Re: Curvy girls or skinny girls?I have to have about twice as much as a "normal" person just to keep my weight from dropping, I don't know how many calories that would equate too but definitely more than 2000. Probably not quite as much as 4000 because I cannot physically eat that much. I konw you can force yourself to eat more, but you have to draw the line somewhere. I didn't mean to sound harsh before, it just winds me up when people assume that (using me as an example) I'm tiny because I don't eat anything.(Original post by sil3nt_cha0s)

Re: Curvy girls or skinny girls?I don't see curves either, I just see sex object.(Original post by translucent)
I don't see curves, I see droopy breasts. -
Re: Curvy girls or skinny girls?Yep, just as I thought - you can gain weight, you're just not prepared to.(Original post by sarahthegemini)

Don't start on 4000kcal. Build up day by day. Your stomach will expand and your body will get used to eating more. You will have to put effort in and, yes, you might have to push yourself past the point of feeling full.
Like I say, whole milk and also weight gainer shakes are perfect. Drinking won't make you feel as full as eating. -
Re: Curvy girls or skinny girls?I do this already(Original post by sil3nt_cha0s)

It's completely unrealistic tbh. You need to accept that in some cases, medical problems DO have a big impact on weight gain. In a lot of circumstances, I agree that people do just need to eat more, but it's not always like that.

Re: Curvy girls or skinny girls?
I don't think that the outer appearance should matter whatsoever! You shouldn't base what you like about someone, on their figure or their 'size'!
Yes, a woman can be thin and curvy...big and curvy...thin with no curves and large with no curves...but does that really define who the person is on the inside? What if it so happens it's someone battling some sort of disease (like, diabetes) that causes them to gain weight? Are you going to judge her on that and not just...be with her because of it?
Or what if it's someone who has an eating disorder (one that isn't forced on themselves)? Are you going to stay away, because she isn't 'curvy' or large?
I have a thick hourglass shape. Meaning, I am bigger, BUT, I still have curves...but from what I've been reading, it's no wonder I have hardly any self esteem! It's people like you guys, that make us girls, feel like crap and feel like they don't matter. I am a C/D cup size for my breasts. I have thighs that touch, a stomach and back that are larger and my arms are bigger too. I have a daughter and a fiance...but I'm so scared still, as to what my own fiance thinks, because of comments like what I've been reading tonight.
'boobs, butt etc'? Really? Why is it that men have to be such pigs! Why can't it, for ONCE, be about who the person is INSIDE? What if you were blind...you met a girl, you loved her laugh, her voice, the way she made you smile and laugh because of her jokes or her cute lil mishaps. You guys connect, go out more and more...then bam, it comes to feeling what he body is like...and if it isn't what you like, you just up and dipset? Like, for real? I'm talking, you touch her, feel ONE role and bounce?
I'm sorry to say, but that ain't being a man. A MAN will accept a woman for exactly WHO she is...INSIDE AND OUT.
To judge a woman by the shape and size of her body, is like judging a book or movie by it's cover. You don't know what you got until you try it.
Yeah sure, skinny girls can wear 'nicer' clothing, but hell...us big girls? We can dance I'll tell ya that!
So ya'll best get over your damn ego's and suck up your pride and start accepting us women the EXACT DAMN WAY WE ARE...or you are gunna be in for some slapping in the near future. Remember, you'lll probably NEVER end up with someone like BEYONCE...wanna know why? Because she is PHOTOSHOPPED, it's not real. Don't matter what ya'll say!
GROW SOME BALLS, STOP BEING COWARDS, GET RID OF THE EGO, SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE AND START TAKING PLEASURE IN THE BEAUTIFUL THINGS...no matter their size or shape. Women have a lot to offer men...as much as men have a lot to offer women...and this entire subject goes to BOTH men and women.
Stop judging us by our size and shape. Accept what you know will treat you right. That's what it's about.
Ok, I've said what I had to say...goodnight scottland! -

Personally I like skinny with good bone structure ("curvy bones", really)
