What is the point? A woman can't help her body, why judge her on things beyond her control? Some women are naturally curvier, some are not, why should it really matter?
Because it does, whether you like it or not.

And fat people can help their body, just as people who eat nothing to be skinny. Not everyone can have natural curves but everyone can be healthy.

People do have control have their own bodies , people who say otherwise are just too lazy to do anything about it, therefore use that as an excuse.

    Fact.

I don't see why people who say they prefer skinny girls get negged, that was the question after all?
I know plenty of gorgeous, HEALTHY skinny girls who eat whatever the hell they like, and are naturally that way, not because they starve themselves or suffer from a warped self image or any kind of eating disorder
Also, I know many skinny girls who are also CURVY, i.e, they have a cinched in waist, larger hips, and nice boobs! But they're still a tiny dress size! Equally, I know gorgeous girls who are a size 12/14/16, and are not 'curvy' at all, they have no waist/defined hips etc, and some even have pretty teeny boobs for their size. I definitely agree that there is confusion surrounding the use of the word 'curvy', it should not refer to dress size but actual body shape!

Why is it, there are so many girls that claim to be curvy constantly making threads like this? Slagging off skinnier girls and making them feel inferior? It must be down to insecurities because I can't imagine someone that is truely happy with their body shape would make such disgusting threads where skinny girls are treated like they are inferior.

People need to remember that 'curvy' is a shape, not a size. Those "skinny size 6-8" girls that regularly get slagged off could be just as curvy as a size 12. Being smaller doesn't always mean not having curves. And on that note, what the hell does it matter if some of us don't have curves anyway? If some of us are more straight-up-and-down? Some of us don't have big boobs and big hips. We're still just as womanly as you curvy lot.
Exactly, it makes me cringe when "curvy" women feel they are superior or that they are some sort of trendsetting anti-conformist just because they have a different body shape to someone else.

And Marilyn Monroe is still slim, I don't know why she's frequently spoken about and hailed as if she's some heroic representative for "curvy" women. And curvy is subjective anyway. If some celebrity like Nicole Richie suddenly puts half a stone on and is still skinny the tabloids will cream themselves over it and refer to her new (but basically the same) shape as "curvy", yet if Britney Spears dares to have a bit of stomach fat she's "bloated" and "fat". It's embarrassing.

Frankie Sandford is absolutely gorgeous, she is stunning yet she is slim but it completely suits her frame. Someone like Nigella Lawson would not look good that size. It's all about what suits your frame.

Yeah, I agree, women have control over their weight, but not about their bone structure, that's simply genetics and can't really be helped or easily modified. I wasn't being specific about weight, but if someone's fat, then that is down to them and shouldn't matter to anybody else, everybody likes different things in people, so just as some people likes skinny people, someone else might go for someone who is larger. People have different opinions, there's not much more to it.

    Both are attractive

As long as the curvy girl is not morbidly obese
Or the skinny girl doesnt starves herself on purpose

    Happy girls are the prettiest

On the internet, 'curvy vs skinny' is portrayed as 'naturally shaped women vs unhealthily emaciated women'. This then gets twisted, in real life, into 'fat women vs naturally shaped women'.

'Curvy' in theoretical arguments over preference like this is a far cry from 'curvy' as it's used to make people who are out of shape feel better about themselves.

curvy means tits and arse, and considering the fact they are 99.9% genetic (particularly the former) this argument is stupid. you can have curves at size 4 and have no boobs at all at size 22.

a better question would be skinny vs fat. in which case skinny wins.

now **** off with this repetative arguement, and stop using word with different connotations to try and bias people opinions.

I think curvy girls rule and it was this picture that inspired this thread

    Attachment 139746

I mean don't get me wrong, not many women come close to being as lovely looking as marilyn monroe. She was a fine specimen of a woman but i mean we are forced in one way or another to see these size zero models everyday of our life's and i think its the wrong way to shape the society we live, pushing this in our faces all the time.

I agree with the picture "**** society" and what we are told we should look like.

BE WHO YOU ARE AND DON'T LET ANYBODY CHANGE THAT

    Please leave your opinions
Monroe had a HUGE array of plastic surgery, mentioning just some; lips, cheeks, chin, boobs and even the two bottom ribs removed for a smaller waist.

Also, don't forget that back then a size 14 was actually a size 8. It's called vanity sizing.

Although, a bitta curve is abviousley a lot more attractive than bones. But just wanted to point out Marylin was the WORST example.

Women should have a full body, like the models in adverts. I prefer those women.
