Re: *The African Society [Part VIII]*drumming is brilliant from the first one, heard it from one of their albums(Original post by + polarity -)

Oh, the 2 songs from Clockwork Angels
I don't know why you'd release a single 2 years before the album,
as for the two songs, I like the variation in tempo in the first one, classic Rush, reminded me of Spindrift from the last album. second song: good anthem, sounds like a fusion of everything they've ever done, but particular from the synthesisers era in the 1980s.
Spoiler:Show

Re: *The African Society [Part VIII]*Loved Freefall. The bass, and the bit just past halfway(Original post by Mastermind`)
by DT? Actually, also listen to this if you have the time as it has good bass. The whole of 'Mirage' album by Camel is a classic, probably the best old-school prog album I've heard.
Listening to Killer then I'll listen to that one ^
This music is making me sleepy -
Re: *The African Society [Part VIII]*Freefall is their most famous song. I underrated Camel, need to work through their discography(Original post by + polarity -)

prog music is for night time, never has the same edge for me during the day -

Killer really grew on me. At first I found the lyrics weird, but the music (particularly the drums) redeemed it
The third song with the long name, wow. The intro made me :/ but after that, it was fantastic. Ahead of their time, them.
Nimrodel, so trippy, especially the outro.

Re: *The African Society [Part VIII]*Aye, a lesson I've learnt is you should never skip progressive songs unless you've heard them for the duration, you never know the direction they're gonna go. I think I like Killer for its riff rather than anything else.(Original post by + polarity -)
P.S. Yeah, by DT

I always thought Nimrodel was okay, but would skip it before it got to the outro. Then one day I was listening to the album whilst reading a book and was too busy to skip so this was the first time I heard the outro, I was like HOW haven't I heard this!? One of the best outros I have ever heard. -
