    how to unfreeze my laptop?
i got a laptop from school and im using a software called 'Mediator'
when i put Mediator into 'test mode' it froze. When i say froze, i can move the mouse & press ctrl + alt + delete (but it only gives me the option to log off or shut down)

when i got the laptop, i got told i can't log off or turn the laptop off or i will be logged out & won't be able to log back in...

    how can i unfreeze it?
its been frozen for over an hour :/

btw, i can't get onto task manager either

We've used mediator and if it's not crashed too badly you can press Escape and exit Test Mode, although it sounds pretty far gone.

Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s...rnals/bb896653 and click the "Run Process Explorer" link and press "Run".

It will hopefully open what looks like task manager on steroids. Find the mediator process - it will probably be one of the processes highlighted in blue in the bottom half of the list. Check the icon and description column to make sure you have the correct process, then right click and "End process".

Hopefully that will kill it. If not, there are more extreme measures you can go to. If you can't find the process listed, post a screenshot of the listing.

Oh dear. Can you not even try to exit it with the 'X'? Usually that brings up an 'end now' that might work, or at least might allow you to run something from a USB drive.
