I am a Member of the Nigerian Royal family. Congrats you have won the Nigerian national lottery. To claim your prize and release the funds please send your bank account details to me and allow me to take £33,000 to release your prize.
    LOOL that made me laugh

With all the talk about debts, I would just continue to save.

This thread offers no purpose other than you telling everyone how much money you have saved. The logical thing to do would be to save it so that you can pay off tuition fee loans and in the future put deposits on apartments etc
To the bit in bold.. how is that the logical thing to do? The payment plan for student debts doesn't exactly make things difficult.. The whole idea of paying off student debts asap is normally thought of as a bit of a daft thing to do financially speaking, especially seen as the OPs interest rate will be 1.5%.

If I had that much money while at uni then I'd save it so that I could get a car when I leave to make me more employable and so that when I get a job which would probably be quite far away and likely be in London I'd have enough money to put down a deposit on a flat and get the ball rolling.

I'd put a deposit down on a house or something, but I'd spend some of it on travel too.

Well obviously? The car is self explanatory and the deposit I already said? Using my own points against me and calling them your own is laughable

    Hey!

I am an 'older' student (23) and have worked a few years, so I have managed to save up a bit of money.

I currently have around £33,000 saved up.

At the moment these are in a number of different saving accounts but I just feel I have all that money in my account but I'm not really 'enjoying life'. I am in a sucky situation with my friendship group at the moment and having girl trouble (haaa).

So I'm just wondering, if you were a student and had £33,000 in savings .. what would you do? .....
Spend £33,000 making sure I knew the difference between the words your and you're....

Nothing. Use it for a house deposit. The bigger your deposit, the lower your mortgage rate (to a point).

Personally I would save it. £33,000 will go a long way to putting a deposit down for your first property, which would be a great investment in the long run.

All this traveling and splurging sounds great and all but I don't think 33k is all that much, frankly.

I mean you having saved it at such an age truly is wonderful, kudos. On the other hand, I would save it for a rainy day. I think luxury comes with either income or extreme wealth, and 33k is certainly not extreme.

3 years of Uni fees would account for the bulk of that money, anyway, and you want money left on which to spring yourself after you graduate... Honestly, I it's not enough to really "live" some lavish life that your first post would indicate.

Spend lots on whatever you feel like, definitely go travelling to weird and wonderful places

I graduated from uni 2 years ago and working full time kinda reduces the opportunity, you'll never have a better opportunity to splosh some dosh

I would keep saving and use it as a house deposit when I graduated.

£33000 is a lot of savings, I don't know anyone really with that kind of dough in savings or similar assets, pensioners aside.

I'd spend a bit on an English tutor to teach me the difference between your and you're.

Edit: 3 other people beat me to it. :sigh:
