The Mole is a great show. I was disappointed it didn't really take off over here but fortunately they have a new series every year in the Netherlands and a few of them are available subtitled on Youtube


I'm a child of the '90s and my list reflects that. Not gonna try and compare older greats (Only Fools..., Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, etc) with tv of today.

I think only The Simpsons qualify. No other TV series has become so popular and well known around the world as The Simpsons has. It is truly a global american cultural force on the level of Coca Cola ,McDonalds and Disney. It is always big news when a celebrity or political figure gets the Simpsons treatment and they usually see it as a great honour. Thinking about it I think Friends can possibly also be added to this list of programmes that have had a global cultural impact. Family guy, great as it is will always be a Simpsons copy which goes to show how great the Simpsons was as so many shows have successfully copied the formula. Doctor who, while fairly big in this country i doubt it's very popular around the globe. Other stuff like Dexter and Prison Break, yeah they are great but they are nothing special. in 10 years they will be largely forgotten about and replaced with something similar.

After season 2 it simply became ridiculous. I still love it but come on, how many prisons will they end up in and then escape from? Plus I still haven't got over michael dying
