    Printing huge PDFs in London
I am not a student in London, but live there and would like to print out loads of academic papers, slides, learning material, etc. my printer would take ages and multiple ink cartridge replacements.

Could you please recommend any cheap and quick solution? (Internet cafes? Libraries? Online printing services?)

Well first off don't use internet cafes! Far too expensive!

I honestly just use my universities facilities. How many pages are you looking at printing out?

Go to an actual printing shop and ask them. There are plenty around just google a few near you and ring them up?

Printing shop... you mean those who print flyers and stuff?

Well, I thought of printing out about 10-15 articles of a online journals (avg 20 pages) and ca 15*30/4 PPTfiles*slides/pages = 112 pages, so I would say a total of around 350 individual pages (with different content on each page).

Oh, if I print on both sides of a page that will become ca 175 pages, I guess

Can I ask why you need to print so much?

Reading university course slides, writing notes on them.
Writing notes on academic papers, underlining, etc.

It is such a pain doing all that on the computer/iPad!

Why aren't you a student then? You just learn for fun?

I am not a student in London (i.e. I don't belong to any university in the UK), but live here because of work and family.

But I have a few things left to do at my university in my home country. Since I cannot go to the printing facilities of my home country every day... I thought of finding some place here ^^ ?

You're better off buying your own laser printer, you can get them for £30 at the cheapest if you find a good deal. Cartridges cost roughly the same price, but you can squeeze on average 1500 pages, which calculates to be far more cheaper than printing services like at Uni. But really, you don't need to print. There are PDF readers which allow you to highlight and annotate all over PDFs, such as PDF XChange Viewer. If you learn by flashcards, use a flashcard program - there's so many out there. Why not use the Kindle? It handles PDFs perfectly, and you can annotate in them too. Many books are available in a dedicated Kindle format. Save your money and resources, that's my advice.

Thank you for the advice. I will consider the laser printer option. What I am looking for is speed.

I have Kindle and good PDF viewers, but they are really uncomfortable when studying. I usually distribute the chapters across the house so I can focus on a certain chapter in each corner, and I also often I need to view different pages or papers simultaneously: for example, if I do an exercise I need to have both the slides and a specific academic paper in front of me, or to my side, in addition to the book.

None of this can be done with electronic stuff, Kindle or PC/laptop or anything, unless I use multiple LCD mega-screens perhaps...?
Space and dimension are the issue. I need to have the notes + papers + etc. spread out over a large space and view them simultaneously.

And high-tech stuff is so bad for the eyes -_-

Just curious: do other people actually prepare for university exams using Kindle/similar?

Try Doxdirect.com I use them for anything more than 200 pages.
