how do they get the answer for qs 4b help pls
They tell you to measure between points P and Q, so you do that will a ruler and record this measurement to the nearest millimetre. You then convert these millimetres into micrometres by multiplying by 1000.
You then divide by the magnification, which is given to you in the question as x1000.
Your answer should fall between 89 - 91, all depending on how many millimetres you originally measured the distance P to Q as. -

I'm no longer taking PMs on this matter as the search function does allow you to find the QP & MS, but for those still needing it please put this into Google: "AQA BIOL1 JAN 2012".
It is the second link that allows you to download it, and ironically it is a link to the TSR website.
