Re: So who's got info about their shifts?Yeah, checked the event schedule and most nights finish at 11.30pm...therefore pretty good chance some of my shifts will be late!(Original post by Divingbrit)
Is there any reason to believe you will not finish at the latest midnight?
All depends on role/venue
Still, no point worrying about anything until I've seen what shifts I have! -
Re: So who's got info about their shifts? You're right, it is. LOCOG have a huge responsibility to make sure that we are all happy with what's happening, as we are sacrificing our time (those of us that work are sacrificing practically half our annual leave) and inconveniencing ourselves so that they can put on a show. Regardless of the pride that I have in the fact that London is hosting the Olympics, we should not forget that Olympic "volunteers" - people who are effectively putting community and country in front of their own lives for a few weeks this summer - have the right to be respected by LOCOG, and not abused for being generous and willing to help.(Original post by Divingbrit)
TSR, the word 'volunteer' is very important -
Re: So who's got info about their shifts? If it's not for volunteering, and is a paid job you're applying for then it should be £8.65 an hour. Do not ask that though...I stupidly did at my interview :l(Original post by TSR!)
Hey Sara94,
What should I except in the telephone interview for the last mile team member role. what sort of questions do they ask? and what is the hourly pay rate? Thanks -
Re: So who's got info about their shifts?
Got my shifts today, for those that will moan at my post...yes, I understand what 'volunteer' means, since I've been volunteering for nearly 6 years of my life now (and i'm 20 next week...)
Unfortunately, 8 out of my 10 shifts...mean I can't either get there on time (6am) or get home (finish at 12.15/45am, trains for where I'm staying finish at 11.50pm)...I now either have to hope that the increased train routes will be on my times, or see if there's any chance of getting nicer shifts.Last edited by VickyTink; 01-05-2012 at 15:42.
