tampon + panty liner.. and set my alarm for half way through my sleep (usually like 4 hours later) to change/avoid leakage for the first 2 or 3 nights, after this the flow is much lighter and im able to sleep through the night (yay!)

Yeah, I'm thinking about going back on the pill. I've been on it before but I have the coil at the moment and I'm not really looking forward to having it taken out
I knew someone who had a coil and it got lost in her :/ That totally put me off ever getting one.. Plus I like the way that the pill gives you control over when you have periods.

It's the best thing ever, I get to find women attractive and beautiful without religions condemning me, I get to pee without sitting down, no periods, no childbirth, no guys hitting on me, plus no one asks me to make them a sammich

    Well...+1 to the womans team.

So educate me...how big is the womb inside of an average woman? It's got to be massive..like the tardis, to make you girls bleed so much ._.

I never bled at night when I still had periods (I don't get them at all on my pill). The bleeding would stop at about 11pm and start up again an hour or 2 after I would wake up. I would have that for about 2.5 - 3 days and that was it. No cramps or aches or anything. Is that not normal? I've never seen these night pads or had blood issues at night...

According to google... a non pregnant uterus is about the size of a pear and according to the NHS website the average amount of blood lost is 30-40ml with some women losing 80ml+

I guess it doesn't really sound like much but because it's lost so gradually and it looks like so much if you leak, it feels like you're losing a lot more. Plus it feels pretty gross and puts (most of) us in bad moods and I find that I actually feel much colder when I'm on even though I feel fine when I donate 500ml of blood straight from my vein.

If I don't use a tampon and a (extra absorbant and extra long night time) pad then there's about 3 nights when I'd leak and even then I'm nearly leaking after 7 hours or so . . . one time I completely ruined a duvet cover and sheet before I wore tampons aswell. I'm starting the pill soon anyway so that should help hopefully.

Attachment 140244 These bad boys do the trick, I'm not too keen on tampons either!
I have to wear one of those and a tampon for heavier periods and even then after about 7-8 hours both are just about filled!
