i have a couple a questions about the transfer if someone can help me please if you are an applicant or a ex or a current student i would be delighted if you could help me as this june i have 9 exams mainly module retakes i wanted to get AAA but then looking at this offer they want CC so do you think if i got BBC in the end of A level i have a chance with leeds presuming i get 70% average. so really the core of my question is does A level matter when transferring.

also are these exams that intense to not be able to get 70% because me personally i dont socialise much and a hardcore worker so if i aim to get 100% i will do my utter best,

and do i need to get a first pass or can i retake any modules in my foundation if i have too?

also do i need to do UKCAT and is it realistically hard to get in to leeds, like what are they looking for academically.

I am an applicant as you might remember The answer to your questions:

1, In terms of A-level grades and the 70% needed to transfer over you have to remember that most of the people on this course will be looking to transfer into medicine at Leeds and probably around 60% (just a guess figure but it will definitely be quite high) of the people on the course will achieve 70% or more in all modules. Therefore in that case Leeds will look at your A-levels and also how well you perform in the foundation year! There are also various other things such as the statement from your tutors matter :l So overall the answer to your question is that yes A-levels do matter even when you have got the 70% required but how much weight is put on A-levels in the overall application is not known

2, The course is harder than A-level but is not as hard a degree but much more leaning towards a degree than A-level. Also you need to remember that only a third of it is actual science the other two thirds is non-sciency stuff. So yes it is hard

3, I'm not sure what you mean by first pass but in terms of retaking modules the answer is NO you have to get 70% in all modules first time around and even if you get 69% in 1 of the 6 modules that is bye-bye to transfer unless ofcourse you do extraordinary in other modules !!!

4, UKCAT has to be taken but is only used a statistical number so even if you do bad it won't affect your application

5, Even though i'm an applicant yet so im not really able to give a true image of how hard it is but you need to remember that you have to be on top of your work and be determined throughout the year and you may also know that medicine in NOT ONLY ACADEMICS so aim high but there are many other things such as references, interview etc that matter also

I didn't know you could do that. So when you have completed the foundation course, can you apply to any medical school?

No, they mean that provided you get AAA for alevels, whilst on the foundaion course, you can apply to 4 other places via UCAS
