Contract Smart Phone sub-£20 p/m
Hi all!
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I have used my Samsung Tocco for years now and feel I need to catch up with the times and buy a smart phone with all those cool aps so I can use the internet on the go.
I'd like to spend <£20 p/m but I'm out of date on whats good with these Smart Phones so looking for some advice from you helpful folkes
I have kept an eye on HotUKDeals and this forum but nothing has caught my eye...
So any recommendations? A great camera and flash would be a real plus!
Cheers,
nucoeus. -
Re: Contract Smart Phone sub-£20 p/m
I can't think of any advice for specific phones, but here is some general advice:
1) Consider paying upfront for the phone, and using something like giffgaff.com - it can work out a lot cheaper in the long run.
2) Check out going straight to mobile services - e.g. a galaxy s2 is £26/month and free from orange, but from mobiles.co.uk its £26/month but you have to pay for some of the phone.
3) Check out mobiles.co.uk and others, although in the case above it's more expensive, my last contract worked out a lot cheaper than them.
4) It might be worth waiting a month or two - I believe the S3 comes out soon, which should drive the price down of an S2 to £20/month, which would be well worth it (its more phone than you could ever need tbh)
5) find a contract you want, then haggle with your current provider to get a better deal - they love retentions.
if you go for (1), and you've lost a phone before / broken them, its probably a good idea to get insurance. -
