    Hi guys...
Is anyone doing the Politics, Psychology and Sociology course at Cambridge, or know's anything about it?
I like the look of the course, because I'm taking both Psychology and Politics at A Level, although I don't study Sociology...
Is it necessary for the course, or is it only a module you can choose to do?
    Appreciate the help...

I went to a taster course, and don't take my complete word for it, but you study all three topics in the first year, then I think in the second and third year you can choose to study only one of the subjects if you wanted to.

Studying all of those at A Levels isn't completely necessary. I was interested in doing a Psychology degree at other Universities, and the head of admissions said your personal statement can focus completely on one of those subjects. However, I didn't apply anyway.

The taster session was really interesting though, usually Sociology at A Level bores the hell out of me, but the lecturer was really engaging. Psychology was also amazing, the lecture was based on Psychology in Cyberspace, and how the internet effects our lives in different ways etc.

Hey, I've got a PPS offer for this October so I'm in a pretty good position to answer

    1) The course has now changed from 2013 onwards (so this will apply to you) to HSPS, I believe. Human, Social and Political Science.
    2) The way that PPS works is that you don't have to have studied any of the subjects previously - I've only studied Sociology, never politics or psychology.
    3) Out of the four modules you do in the first year, you have do at least 2 from Politics, Psychology or Sociology - so if you decided you really didn't like Sociology, you could just not do it and do something else instead.

I know this is an old-ish thread but I hope that helps

I don't know if you guys have noticed, but there's a dedicated thread for PPS in the Cambridge forum: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=172876
