Country Music Lovers Society
Anybody else on TSR love country and western music? If so, you're welcome to join the Country Music Lovers Society!
Please comment below with your favourite songs, artists etc. links if possible, so others can listen too!
I'll get the ball rolling: my favourites are Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift, I've also gotten into Kellie Pickler (less well known, but still good) recently. Links below:

Re: Country Music Lovers Society
I started listening to country music when I was 15, and I still love the golden oldies now (Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Kris Kristofferson, Charlie Pride, Buck Owens, Dwight Yoakam, Emmylou Harris, Patsy Kline, Don Williams, Merle Haggard etc).
I've not found much contemporary stuff that I like. I did listen to Brad Paisley and even Tim McGraw for a period though. My favourite types of country remain Outlaw and the Bakersfield sound.
I'm going to see Don Williams at the Bridgewater Hall this month. His voice is so soothing.
A favourite by Merle Haggard
Patsy Cline, The Queen of Country.

Re: Country Music Lovers Society
I'm a casual fan of older country music, none of the contemporary country for me I'm afraid.
My favourite is the tragically underrated Lee Hazlewood - who may not be strictly country I suppose (as he did incorporate rock and roll, then later psychedelia to his oeuvre), I still think he's a tremendous musician in a country vein and one of my all-time favourite lyricists.
