I could say a couple of sentences on how a Kantian might respond, but no way a whole essay!! What kind of additional scholars could you include for this??

    Thanks! xx

I do both and I'd say it depends where your strength lies. Personally I've probably done equal work for biology and philosophy & ethics- but those who struggle with concepts of philosophical thinking do need to spend more time on it. It's not an easy subject though!

i fink act and rule utilitarianism r quite easy nw dat ive learnt wat dey r about. Act utilitarianism is proposed by Jeremy Bentham and it looks at the consequences of each individual act each time it is and calculates the utility (usefulness) each time that act is perfomed.
according 2 act utilitarianism when determining whether the act is right it is the value of the consequence that counts. Bentham's theory is quantitative.

Whereas, Rule utilitarianism is proposed by J.S.Mill. This looks at the consequence of having everyone follow a particular rule and calculates the overall utility of accepting or rejecting the rule. Rule utilitarianism focuses on general rules that everyone should follow to bring about the greatest good for the community. John Stuart Mill's theory is qualitative as he thinks that the quality is more important than quantity when it comes to pleasure

If Moral argument, Teleological argument, Problem of Evil and anything on Science and the Religion comes up. I think I may cheer during the exam. I'm guessing Plato will come up probably though instead of Science and the Religion or maybe the Ontological Argument.

I want ontological to come up, but I doubt it will seeing as it came up in January. Aquinas' teleological argument will probably come up; but I don't know how I am going to manage to write a whole essay on it; do you have any points?

If Aquinas' Teleological argument came up, could you talk about Paley etc as a few additional points or would that just be irrelevant?

Sadly that would be irrelevant. I will try and come up with an answer here.

    * Introduce argument by saying qua regularity, a posteriori and from Aquinas's fife ways, etc.
*All things in the world, conscious or non-conscious, follow natural laws.
*Natural laws tend to lead to good ends (telos), can bring in Natural law theory here.
*These good ends (telos) must be directed by an external force in non-conscious being as they cannot direct themselves unlike a conscious being.
*Example of archer and an arrow. The non-conscious arrow (effect) is caused by a conscious archer (cause). Planets' revolution, and natural laws are effects, they also need a cause.
*In conscious beings it is out of reason that telos is discerned, and consequently, conscious beings also need a purpose in the life. Final cause (refer to Aristotle here) must have a 'Final effect' also.
*This external being is what we call God.

I do Philosophy of Religion and New Testament (I've never ever met someone else who does this one...)

Technically... starting to cram everything in tomorrow.
    For Philosophy I'm concentration on:
    Plato (all)
    Aristotle (all)
Ontologogical from Anselm, Descartes and Gaunilo and Kants challenges
    Cosmatological from Aquinas
Teleological from Paley and (maybe aquinas)
    Irenaeus' theodicy
    Augstines' theodicy
    Creatio Ex Nihilo
    Omnibenevolence, Omnipotence, Omnipresent bit.

Literally all I'm revising for philosophy.
Platos not come up in the past 4 papers...
I HATE the religion and science topic (even though im a science geek)..
    and I hate Cosmatological.

Think my list of *to learn* is too short, or just about okay?
I figured I could afford to miss some things out :3

If a question said (for example)
Explain the Ontalogical argument from Aquinas and Descates...
Do I literally write about just Aquinas or Descartes.. or would I have to do the criticisms as well.??

My teacher thinks we *never have enough infomation*... and her essays are actually ridiculously hard..
She'll include A2 bits and bits from the old spec and.. yeah.. she scares me

    Hope so :3
If it does, i'm going to be absoutely fine
I've got my philosophy paper in the afternoon, so i'm being kept in isolation

For New Testament, my ideal 4 topics would be:
    1. Pharisees or Sadducees
    2. Roman occupation impact on Jewish Life
    3. Source Criticism and the Synoptic Gospels & Q
    4. (I would say temple, but it came up in january.. so...) Either the Last Supper significance or Mark's Triumphal Entry :3

You could talk about James Rachels who argued there's no difference between passive and active euthanasia. You could get in the whole sanctity of life against singers quality of life. You could talk about John Stuart Mill who argued in matters that only involve the individual, they have complete liberty.
