If a question said (for example)
Explain the Ontalogical argument from Aquinas and Descates...
Do I literally write about just Aquinas or Descartes.. or would I have to do the criticisms as well.??

My teacher thinks we *never have enough infomation*... and her essays are actually ridiculously hard..
She'll include A2 bits and bits from the old spec and.. yeah.. she scares me
Aquinas didn't put forward an ontological that was Anselm! Aquinas criticised the necessary / contingency idea because humans don't have the capacity to know what God's nature is like.

I'm freeeaking out! Can't believe it's tomorrow
Really annoyed how people who don't take Religious Studies think it's dead easy, you have to learn so much!

I've missed out Ontological argument and Just War Theory in my revision, will cry if they come up

Unfortunately, after 2 very successful mocks I sidelined my revision for RE completely and am now beginning to regret it. I just don't have enough time to re-remember everything which has now become filtered out with English quotes and History stats. Oh well, fingers crossed!

    Good luck everyone

    Hi!

Thank you for recommending my philosophicalinvestigations website! The predictions for this year's AS level in the blog section are made on the basis of past trends. It's highly unlikely preference utilitarianism will appear this summer - teachers made such a fuss last time, and it is a difficult area anyway!

I am going to try and show you how to give your answers an A grade twist in my next blog, but meantime, go to my opening paragraphs under Exam syllabuses and revision tips and you'll get a flavour of how to launch an A grade answer.

Notice also I have put special whizz thru powerpoints on all aspects of ethics both AS and A2 - you can whizz through these in five minutes and they give you the essence of that area. They are the first item in each section.

    Peter Baron
Why didn't I find your site earlier? It is amazing!! Thank you so so much. I particularly like how you seem to really push us and address the criteria of the top level responses.

Just war might do as it has never come up before. Ontological probably not - but Descartes' version or Gaunilo's criticisms might come up.

Oh dear... well it's too late now I've done everything else in depth, it just means I won't have a choice.

Cave already came up so it's doubtful, I think the theory of the forms or prime mover will come up if Plato/Aristotle come up and maybe the Augustine Theodicy?

If you've revised the Bible bit easily enough the theodicies should be fine. They're quite systematic so you can remember them well

Applying the hedonic calculus would make me want to run away D8
They shouldn't ask you to directly apply the hedonic calculus, simply memorise a few like I remember Intensity, Duration and Certainty because they are the easiest to criticise when applying act utilitarianism
