Trying to find a part time job?
I'm 18 and in my final year of College and I'm looking for a part time job. I'm in need of the money now and I also want a job now for the experience so it'll be easier to find another one when I move away to Uni. The only experience I've had was last year when I had a job as a waiter in a local pub. I was only able to work there for about 3 weeks, as the new owners had financial difficulties they basically stopped calling me for shifts and I never heard from them again

To be honest I stopped looking for a while, but I've started again since January and I've had no luck. Most of my applications have been online because I thought I would have a better chance to apply for a vacancy rather than hand out a load of CV's around for them to get thrown in the bin.
So far I've had no replies (except a couple rejections) and I'm wondering what I can do differently or where else to apply to? -

Hand out the CVs - yeah, some will get thrown in a bin, but you have to try EVERYWHERE - also, online, you can't make a first impression

And not just CVs where help's wanted, go in, ask if there's anything going or will be going everywhere
Good luck! (It worked for me . . . twice

Re: Trying to find a part time job?Try places like mcdonalds, (and other fast food places). They are always taking people on and have a lot of students working there.(Original post by rednaxula)
