So, I have an i10 just now that was bought from new in December. It's done 3k miles but I'm finding the seat very uncomfortable and have had to see a doctor about recurrent back pain- I've experimented and found that it's to do with driving! I've tried everything with the position but it can't even adjust height.. bit hopeless. Anyway, the problem seems to be that, rather hysterically, my shoulders are too broad to fit properly in the seats. I'd noticed the sides being quite close when I test drove but it was fine- I've gone up a jacket size since then as a result of gym sessions, and I don't see any going back.

For what my car is still worth I can upgrade to a used i20, 2009 with around 20k miles, with cash to spare- it's that bit bigger and should be more comfortable. Has anyone owned one/have any advice? Would this be a safe bet? I don't fancy any nasty maintenance surprises at least until I graduate in 2 years.

(I'm sticking with Hyundai because I have a service plan on the i10 and only have any hope in hell of holding onto that value if I go back to the original dealer- otherwise I'd be getting a polo)
